I think the assumption is probably ‘if you’re going to buy the digital-only console, you must have fast internet; if you have fast internet, you don’t mind downloading a game, playing it, and then deleting it once you’re done’.

I wouldn’t say it’s a must have, but game pass and the fast SSD are pretty nice. 

Please, people used to say exactly that with micro transactions and loot boxes, look at the state of the industry now.

Honestly... THAT kind of advertising is acceptable. Ads during loading times are NOT ok... I’m skeptical that loading times can be artificially inflated to prolong ad exposure.

If I hear of any game doing this, I won’t play. If it invades gaming as a whole, I’ll find a better hobby. In short, it’s a terrible idea. I hope everyone involved suffers a series of embarrassing accidents that have everyone laughing in their faces for all time.

fair enough and to refute your refutations - the raw numbers of the SSD is not whole the story, you have to look at how xbox streams off the SDD - net performance on optimized new architecture games is much of a muchness between the machines.

I still don’t think that is an excuse for something like this. You can’t just ditch players in the middle of a game even if they are a small percentage of the player base. What about games with New Game + modes? Shit like this totally screws them up if they want to pick up the game again some time in the near future…

You’re acting like people who “deal with” the mentally ill aren’t routinely exposed for abusing or exploiting them. Of course I’m more concerned for a mentally ill woman making clear allegations of abuse in court under oath than I am for the people “dealing with” her.
