Don’t even joke about more Rebel Moon. Do you want Snyderbots? That’s how you get Snyderbots.

Star Trek articles????? On io9?????? Heavens to Betsy! Why can't we get more Rebel Moon coverage instead?

They recap it every week. Seems reasonable for a science fiction-focused website.

Who wants to bet they have a contractually obligated pay bump after 5 seasons?

It’ll be his third, after 2010's Life As We Know and 2018's Love, Simon, the latter’s worldwide take doing nearly 7x its budget.

God forbid that a movie set in Africa with African characters has BLACK people in it...

As I recall, the MCU made 20 films about men before making their first film with a female protagonist. Of the 35 or whatever films they’ve now made, three have female heroes.

It should be added that if you are/were a Disney shareholder (which I am) on February 5th (the voting record date) and you dislike Nelson Peltz and Ike Perlmutter’s vision, you can vote against their efforts.

Lifelong Star Wars fan who is just now getting into Trek.
Anything with more Yeoh is a good thing. Wish she’d do SW.

The number of studio that would absolutely fight to the death for Feige if Disney was stupid enough to fire him would be...checks notes...ALL OF THEM.  Including Disney after the board was ousted the next week.

like him or not, you have to admire moffat’s commitment to lying about stuff and deliberately provoking the fanbase for the show

I wonder if whoever is in second place on the list of producers who have had the best return on investment over their lifetime can even see Feige ahead of them.

There is a very famous media philosophy/concept wherein the medium IS the message, and advocating for a North American, family-film-making company to make sure their medium is just white men in the protagonist seats tells me everything I need to know about this.

The top grossing film of 2023 was Barbie, dude

By the way, Marvel doesn’t have any “all black” or “all female” casts in any of their films. Black Panther notably has a white guy playing a supporting character for a lot of the film. Captain Marvel and The Marvels has freakin’ Nick Fury has one of the main characters.

Isn’t it funny how when a movie cast skews towards women or POC, it’s “political” or “pushing a message,” but if it’s all white dudes, there’s never a problem?

The absolute -balls- of this guy to question the logic making a movie that *checks notes* LEAD THE 2018 BOX OFFICE.

“Why do I have to have a Marvel [movie] that’s all women?” Peltz asked the publication. “Not that I have anything against women, but why do I have to do that”

Discovery is like the gangly teenager of Star Trek shows—awkward, still figuring itself out, but really creative and energetic in spurts and slowly growing into something great. Season 4 told the type of first contact story Gene Roddenberry would’ve been proud of, and Season 5 looks like a lot of fun.

Except modern California and Texas wouldn’t respond the same way.
