Man - not a chance for HF acid. Search for “Things I Won’t Work With” by Derek Lowe. I don’t see an index for them, but Google turn them up. I bet HF is on that list.

I use lime. How deep are you digging first? Go at least 3 feet down, unless it’s a big dog. The go 5.

The Ever Given getting stuck wasn’t lack of maintenance but impatience to get going under unsafe conditions, made a bit worse because the Ever Given is one of the newest generation of giants and so there hasn’t been the experience to spot what is unsafe conditions for it in the canal. Under identical wind conditions

Something don’t fit. From the NTHSA recall report:

Seriously?

If a baker can refuse to put a rainbow on a cake because of who is buying it a theater owner could charge a pregnant woman at least twice. Imagine if octomom showed up?

Isn’t the estimate that, on its own, California would be the 5th wealthiest country in the world? Pretty far from the third world status. It’s a modern state with modern problems.

In the greater D.C. area they basically did that in the 1970s. It was such fun to see the air turn orange. Not just the sky. I’m talking a sepia filter noticeable on anything in the mid-range distance - very visible at the 1/4 mile mark.

Currently ethanol production requires about 90% of the energy it contains to be used in processing it. This is one reason you don’t see ethanol “farmers” operating their plows and harvesters on a closed cycle with the ethanol they produce.

All fuel is renewable.

I had an ‘87 for 30 years - the only place it leaked oil was from the distributor seal which the dealership damaged f’ing up a repair. The repair was warranty, so they had to make sure they got a profit on the “unrelated” come-back. Ignition problem - warranty. Oil leak, not covered. F’n GM and Pontiac.

I expect cells in cars are better matched and have individual charge regulation. In powertool packs it takes only one weak cell to spoil it for everyone - it will charge short of the capacity of the other cells and prevent them getting properly charge. It’s all downhill from there. Often replacing one cell with one

My wife got me a toy R/C boat with about a 15 foot range on the transmitter. I puttered around with it for a while and she wants to drive it. So she drives it about 20 feet away and no more control. Of course the last heading was upwind and across the pond the long way. It took about half an hour to make it back to be

Pumpkin-tiki.

Not while they are blinded by texting on their cell phones.

I came across a couple in the middle of the street wearing all matt-black moving something into a truck. The contrast between them and the black-top road was nearly zero. I think I noticed them when they moved in front of a reflector on the truck.

The town is bisected by highway 40:

Virginia is really brutal on speed limits everywhere. And no radar/lidar detectors, by law. Do they also have the “Speed limit enforced by aircraft” signs” Those freaked me out - Hellfire missiles are no joke.

No need. On highways near me 10 over is the typical speed. The police could write 10,000 tickets on a single rush hour were the capacity to do so existed.

I want to see some real competition, where VW is also buying up all the repair glass for other manufacturers.
