    Air pollution is a huge deal here because of the geography. Pollutants get trapped in the valley and we often have the worst air quality in the nation.

    Diesel is worse, as far as I can tell. Try to find some facts to back up your assertion.

    The problem is, they live in a valley between mountains. The valley traps in all of the pollutants in what’s called an inversion. So we all have to breathe their carcinogenic smoke until we get a nice storm. And it never storms here.

    Sweet. So in order to do a similar cheap build, all I would need to do is take many technical classes to learn how to wrench, buy several old donor cars for parts, make friends with various electrical and mechanic skills, and buy all the tools I would need.
