I can look at spreadsheets and past performance and see that the expected return is greater than the cost of the mortgage loan, and rationally know that it’s easier to sell investments than to get money out of a paid-off house, but after years of student loans, car loans, mortgage payments, credit cards…

The Pontiac is really the only reasonable choice on this list. Even a GT Legacy is still pretty vanilla.
