My thoughts exactly, just not expressed by my first post.

When I bought my 95 525i/5 a year ago, I did not like the stock Style 2s it came with. But I am very big on stock wheels that are appropriate for the platform and size, so I stuck with 15s but got some model-correct Style 5s. Smaller wheels just look good to me on the e34.

Fuck those barbershop guys. They wouldn't have tipped anyway and were happy to find an excuse to be cheapasses. 

You can also make the same dumb decision in your thirties. My 525i 5MT looks great, but between the wheels and tires, springs and sporty shocks/struts the ride will break your back and knock out loose fillings. Never again.
