Having been in these tire/snow debates for many MANY years, I’ve come to the conclusion that people don’t understand that there are different kinds of snow. Would I try and get away with my AT3W’s in Maine in the winter? No. Do they work great in Utah? Yes.

This year, in a fit of procrastination, I didn't fit my snow tires until the first snowfall of the year. Driving my car both before and after lets me say with confidence that you have no idea what you're talking about to an almost dangerous degree.

I get shit for driving like a grandma in the snow in my truck and people just don’t get what you said about AT tires in the snow. Please forgive me for not wanting to send 5,500 lbs sliding into anyone around me. I’ll take my Subaru on on iPikes over a Raptor on K02s any snowy day.

MT and AT tires suck in snowy conditions and even more so in icy conditions compared to actual snow/winter tires. I have snow rated ATs and they are barely acceptable on snowy roads, I’d much prefer actual snow tires. That little snowflake on the tire doesn’t really mean all that much. Maybe the solution is to have bigger vehicles that can carry more people in one go through the tunnel. If it’s really high volume, maybe link the larger vehicles together in a chain so that they all travel at once all at the same speed.
