Agreed. That Hybrid + AWD combo can’t come soon enough on that damn thing. Pretty much the only thing that kept us from ordering one when first released. But probably best anyway for us to let Ford iron out any first year kinks they’re known so well for.

No thanks on the WRX. But that S2000 is bringing back memories of the AP1 I had with the same color combo. I’d gladly buy that for $17.5k :)

This episode of TAL might help you get a feel for the American dealership experience -

Sure, but consider this the difference between going to a reputable bank for financing vs. a pay day loan shop.

Not disagreeing with you that the Accord is an excellent choice, but heated and cooled seats aren’t that uncommon anymore. I believe several trims of the RAV-4 come with it for example (we were looking at Adventures that MSRP for well under $40k that offer heated + cooled seats and heated steering wheel as options -

Recently I saw what appeared to be a decently priced used vehicle I was considering as a family hauler (was a RAV-4 Adventure, I believe). Fine print quoted $599 (!!!) for nitrogen filled tires.

Why are we recommending a bog standard quattro A4 at $32k and leaving so much budget on the table? That’s a pretty damn boring car when it’s clearly not what’s being asked for.

Working in corporate reporting, and knowing how insanely seriously people in my field take SEC rules, it is an utter disgrace seeing what this buffoon has been able to get away with to date.

You seem to have a “win at all costs” mentality.

I think you’re failing to grasp the difference between what an individual might decide is the best bang for their buck in terms of their pocketbook, vs. what is better for society as a whole. See other comments made around DVDs and the tragedy of the commons.

Feels like a cop out answer, but - SMARTPHONE (make it one with good coverage, a way to keep it charged up, and properly mounted in your vehicle).

Can you please discuss this garbage holder concept with my wife + toddler? It seems the inside of the trash bag hanging off the headrest of the passenger seat is the only part of the car that manages to stay clean.

Yes. And screw all the comparisons to BLM.

Moved to New England last summer. I refused to even entertain any houses that didn’t have a garage - I didn’t care how small the house was, I’m paying for a garage. Because I knew that if we didn’t have one either I’d be scraping snow off our cars every single time.

I think this is what it all boils down to. For an enthusiast who knows the ins and outs of how things work with Turo, do the proper research, keep records etc. it sounds like a great way to experience something unique. And always, always get the insurance coverage. Personally I still wouldn’t do it - most times I’m

Spot on. Now please define the words “rewind” and “tape” for the kids in the audience.

Never driven an E46 M3 vert - maybe that gives it more of a pool noodle feel? Although I haven’t heard that about it.

Damn right you need to get deported - your first thought should’ve been “I’ll show that damn snow, where’s my AK-47?”

Yeah I can’t even imagine the madness of going from zero car payments on a 12 year old car to either having a $90k hole in my bank account, or having $90k of principal worth of car payments for at least the next 3 years. I love cars but no car is worth that to me. Maybe if/when I’m Fuck You rich, but I’m not there and

Dealt with all these same issues living in the SF Bay Area. For a while we lived about an hour outside the city while my wife was in grad school, to save on rent (and my job at the time was not in SF either). But once she graduated and we both had jobs in SF we took the plunge to move back in to the city proper. Yes
