Think you left a few bits off the math there. Don’t forget to factor in depreciation, having to live with that plastic fantastic interior, and the fact that a 15 year old Camry makes more power than this thing did fresh off the assembly line.

Is that yours? Vanity plate read “17AGAIN”? Nice car!

That may all be well and true - but at the end of the day many cities adopted and upheld the medallion model. Any newcomers looking to become a taxi driver had to invest in one. Until the cities suddenly decided that they were going to ignore medallions and let Uber/Lyft play by the rules they wanted.

“M3/4/5" is nomenclature us BMW douchebags use to speak about E36 M3 sedans (4 door) with the 5 speed manual transmission.

This is obviously assumed used inventory exists (meaning new EV car sales need to happen first), and it works and is financially feasible for people. Given those assumptions - I totally agree. Anyone looking for a cheap commuter (or to keep miles off a nicer car) and has another family car in their garage could

Amen to this. I’m hoping many of these companies will come to this realization. The reason there is such a huge focus on subscription services is that the stock market places quite a premium on such business models - “recurring revenue!”, so MBAs like to point to companies like Microsoft’s transition and what it has

I’m somewhat biased - but this is CP for me simply because the E46 exists and can be had for much less money than this. It’s an all around better car, better looking, and newer + cheaper in non-special trims (just like this is for an E36). To me this straddles the weird line where if I want a classic I’d go for an

Don’t disagree. Doesn’t make it any less funny for us or any less humiliating for him.

Didn’t this same guy do something moronic getting his wiper blades replaced and then write about it too? Completely baffling why - if you know your car is about due for some routine maintenance - you don’t simply do the work yourself or have your regular shop do it BEFORE setting off on a cross-country roadtrip.

I’m extremely skeptical that THAT guy was able to crawl over the rear seats. Also quite likely that there was a kid or at least a child seat in the back, so putting the seats down isn’t just a matter of pressing a button. He’d have to (LOL) open the doors to unlatch the child seat at a minimum.

How clean did you get your undercarriage before spraying it? My FIL got something like this done on his truck when it was brand new...I really want to do it for our cars now having moved to New England, but I’m trying to figure out how clean the cars need to be in the first place before spraying it (cars are from 2005

Clearly just means its time to buy a nice E46.

Very nice spec! Last of the NA inline 6s! And euro delivery, very jealous!

Small world! I’m actually up in Reading, and you mentioned Maine - I drive up that way quite often as well, wife’s family is up there closer to Acadia and stuff.

Any idea how they’re selling? I’m yet to see one out in the wild and not like I live in the boonies (Boston). It does seem like a great car- just curious how it attracts people in the real world based on what you get for the $ compared to the competition at that price point. Would love to hear how you ended up in one.

$600 a year for insurance is easy, but housing is definitely 5x or more of that range where I live. But I would imagine most places where you can buy a nice house for $150k you’re also looking at salaries that are similarly reduced? I know averages are skewed upwards with the handful of crazy high priced cars that get

Get them the official old person car - Town Car! They are cheap, comfy, and super easy to keep running. I love them (especially the 90s generation).

Current average sales price is $45k.

Came here to say this. The Spark EV, while not as fashionable, is a much better alternative both in terms of charging capability and usability.

Ouch! Didn’t know about this, bummer. Lost track since he moved off FB.
