Given the price point I’m assuming this is a nicer car, but still if the car you’re looking at works for your needs you’re absolutely making the right decision. We need to stop adding more and more features to our lives, it gets hard to do without afterwards - and that’s the entire point, to keep you coming back for

This is a question of number of drivers vs. number of hours to me. The apps absolutely depend on the full time drivers to make up a bulk of their volume, even if they are a relative minority in the absolute number of drivers. This creates a disadvantage for them - who perhaps legitimately do deserve full time benefits

California voting Yes on Prop 22—which includes fine print that any changes to it must be passed with a seven-eighths majority in the state’s legislature—is a huge setback for labor.

You could’ve started with your last sentence so we didn’t have to read the rest of the hot garbage you typed!

I love those things, was seriously considering that route until I came across the deal on our current Bolt. Such an airy cabin too - and supposedly a decent handler too given its Focus roots from what I’ve heard?

Great to hear from another Spark lessee! Damn that’s a crazy deal you got - the way I looked at it was like a free car. I would easily spend $120+ a month on gas alone commuting in my E46.

As a lover of cheap EVs (on my second!) I fully support this. Not everyone needs or can afford a Tesla (even a Model 3 which is BMW money).

I leased a Spark EV. It was excellent. It also cost $130 a month with zero down, and near zero running costs. Was awesome for city driving and as a commuter - all the car you need for such use.

Which candidate is this from? If I’m reading this correctly they aren’t able to level an effective message against their own opponent, but instead draw some vague connections to AOC and the squad to attack instead?

It’s not that the window exists - just that the actual opening on it is miniscule. Surely you could still achieve the structural integrity without giving up 95% of the space behind the glass to being solid material?

Oh damn! Must be because I supposedly live in an anarchist city that has been on fire all year (Portland, OR) that my insurance is so cheap!

Yeah my coverage has gotten significantly cheaper over time. I’m getting older, the cars I’m driving are getting more boring, and I guess you can only be driving one car at a time (or two max, if spoused) regardless of how many you have. And we don’t drive that many miles. I’m probably paying the same right now for 3

I don’t know...it’s Geico for what it’s worth and I’ve been with them forever with no claims in over a decade. Right now have 3 cars on it with full coverage (‘16 Outback, ‘05 E46, and ‘20 Bolt...oh, and a 14' camper trailer) with $500 deductibles for $140 a month. Before we added the trailer recently it was around

Nice info, agreed! If you were going to lease anyway this is a hell of a deal. I wouldn’t pay that much for a Volvo lease to start with, but for someone who would, this is a great alternative.

Yikes, I’m spoilt out here in Oregon with registration costs!

Ouch - that’s crazy expensive. I was a bit off on my insurance quotes. Our Subau (2016 Outback) and E46 are pretty cheap in the $150/6 mos range, but my Bolt lease is $295/6 months...so it’s not unreasonable that a more expensive car would cost $500+.

Exactly. I guess this is appealing for people who don’t want to deal with the hassle of the details. But insurance and registration isn’t that expensive on a monthly basis - it’s just the work of getting it set up. I guess it’s worth it for some, but as you said you never reach a point where you start reaping the $

Yeah I guess it’s smart for anyone who doesn’t already have a car - so it’s a very hassle free process. But even factoring in insurance that’s quite a premium you’re paying, instead of say just adding a vehicle on to your existing auto policy, which for me comes to around $100-150 per six months of coverage.

Texas A&M, Utah State, or...Davis Aggie?

Haha exactly. Every time I see an article about a stupid half assed repair that failed on a rusted ass Jeep I don’t even bother clicking - I really, really don’t care. Of course not everything is about me, but I suspect many other readers feel the same.
