Both drivers are at fault in the picture you posted. Its a screencap of a dashcam and if you watch the whole thing you will see that the pickup truck is purposely and illegally blocking the left lane by driving parallel to the semi truck because he is a passive aggressive prick.

Most speed limits are arbitrary numbers established 50 years ago, made to keep the worst drivers safe in the most unroadworthy of cars. Cars have advanced a long way since then. The majority of modern cars with a capable driver can safely go much faster than the posted speed limit.

If you are not passing stay out of the passing lane. Its really simple.  You are breaking the law just as much as the speeders. You are also way more dangerous than people going 15 miles over the speed limit because you force faster moving traffic to be routed around you on the right between all the other traffic.…

The trick is to not turn the key too far or the steering locks up. : )

I understand that is how they do it in Europe, but we are talking about America here. It is possible I will be proven wrong, but I really don’t think so.

You have to account for 2 freeways merging and stuff like that where the slow lane suddenly becomes the middle lane. Or when they have to leave the slow lane to dodge someones grandma who is merging onto the freeway at 35 with a line of bumper to bumper cars behind her.

It is actually is safer to move out of the passing lane and let cars pass you. If you change lanes to the right with the cars going the same speed as you, the faster drivers can easily pass in the passing (left) lane with very little risk to anyone.

This is a fallacy. Any car can drive for a short distance on water. You just need enough speed and you skip like a stone. She just wasn’t trying hard enough.

This will cause more accidents than it prevents. Having vehicles sharing the road with different speed limits will upset the flow of traffic and cause more people to change lanes, increasing the probability of a crash.

Anyone have an idea on a nice way to notify the lane hog in front of you to move over without having them shoot at you?

Yep same thing happened to me, but only on car related blogs. This makes me happy. I have been commenting here for years and was really getting fed up with being gray. I was actually about to stop posting because of this. I’m glad they fixed it. :)

I have always wanted one of these until I looked into buying one and found out the manual only came on the sedan. : (
