I would argue that the hybrid powertrain adds unnecessary weight and detracts from the driving experience. Nobody ever asked for an AWD NSX.

I can confirm. I have much lust for the original NSX and I used to be a huge Honda fan. This new NSX does not appeal to me at all.

Porsche seems to be selling the Cayman just fine. The Cayman is a car in the true spirit of the original NSX. A real drivers car with a manual gearbox and six cylinders in the middle. That should have been easy for honda to make.

I think you are missing the point. Wile this might not be the strongest argument put forth by Tesla, it is only one of many reason why they should not be forced to sell there cars through a middle man.
