It usually to always is.
It usually to always is.
And as always whiteness in the comments just could not stop with excuses and dodges. At this point I wonder if it is a sport.
That bill name is a joke. Protecting students never mattered when students of color, LGBTQ+, and non-Christian students were being harassed and assaulted. Only seemed to matter when it applies to white students (and barely that. It us more about white adult feelings more than anything).
I mean it’s not like there has been a history of white mobs getting away with wanton violence and murder in the U.S. that would make them think they could get away with it. Nope nothing like the Colfax massacre in Louisiana (Look it up. It looks fairly similar to another event.)
Sadly, we have to fight heaven and earth to be seen as innocent as Black people (even harder to prove it too for some reason *side-eyes America hard*) while we have to move mountains and worlds to find some white people guilty even when it is blatantly obvious. Kinda f***ed up.
And as usual, whiteness just could not stop itself in the greys.
So another innocent Black man died before getting any real justice. I feel like this is a perfect analogy for racial justice in this country. As usual *sigh* Yep thhhhaaatttt’s whiteness. Rest in peace William Virgil. You were done wrong by a system that never stopped seeing us as a threat for just existing. I really…
I hope it is the latter, but it is usually the former and only the former of those two. There is a need to obfuscate the fact that America made money speech. So to the person you responded to, yes Disney could have said ish with their money this whole time. Not only did they not do that, they actually bankrolled the…
Yeah I have research books talking about the use of it as code for Black in restaurants but it was after that post you provided from 2002. The fact that these things appeared in research on race and have been for a while should show some things.
I cannot star this enough. “Normal” in this country was always a hellscape for many people.
I said this in an earlier article but again really think about what this says. Discomfort is too much for whiteness. Even that discomfort is from simply having an honest examination of American history. No one is attacking the people feeling this discomfort and no one is making threats against them in response to…
I know right. We probably would have ended up being that “more perfect union” I keep hearing about but never in my lifetime saw.
Damn, Vice President John C. Calhoun would be super pissed these people keep trying to undo his whole theme. So would a couple of other presidents and vps but whatever. Whiteness will be whiteness.
It is because they have the nerve to be successful while being Black. While it does not fully matter what we do while being Black (more about being the fact that we do ANYTHING while being Black), Black success is the ultimate affront for whiteness and white supremacy. Messages like Campion’s are essentially the…
You’re right. It is almost like they were socialized inside a system where their peers, parents, neighbors, and relatives were more than likely reinforcing their ideas to do something like this, rarely (probably never considering recent statistics) lived around Black people or other racial groups, rarely went to…
Again, whiteness just can’t stop itself. Also again, to be fair it was never really trying.
They fear the social stigma. It’s cool to say racist ish when its behind closed doors (or in the case of sociology, the backstage), but when it hits the frontstage it is usually deny deny deny. Two-faced racism is an interesting read detailing ish exactly like this.
If I said I was shocked, I would be 100% lying. Sadly more than likely, nothing will really come of this. Whiteness is deeply ingrained in U.S. society and gotta agree with Ta-Nehisi Coates when he said something along the lines of not being able to imagine an America without white supremacy. Ish is only getting…
Clearly and thank you. lol
Done lol.
