I was pretty grossed out with the reactions and hate people threw at one of the character designers when he decided to share some concept art for April. Such racist and useless vitriol being thrown when it was completely unjustified and rude.

Is there anything to stop one of the studios breaking ranks with the others, and making their own deal with the unions?
“It’s hard to get a man to understand something when his paycheck depends on him not understanding it.”
Hit him, Ted! You too, David!
Deadline isn’t “their famous relationships with the upper echelons of the industry.” They are part of PMC and PMC owns Dick Clark Productions which is a signatory of the AMPTP. Deadline is a mouthpiece of the group they are a part of.
Abolish CEOs, take all their blood money assets, distribute them starting with the least of us, and reorganize industry under co-op conditions. That’s a start. Fuck the executive class to the Sun and back. Executives, landlords, and rent seekers should never be allowed into our good graces for all the leaching and…
I wonder if this stems from Netflix’s comments in Europe, and how they are doing all/most of the things the unions in the US are demanding. And how Netflix over in Europe is committed to fairly paying those people (per their public statements, and again applying to the european side of things).
Thunderdome! All the execs enter, one exec leaves.
I was really hoping that it would help The Last Voyage of the Demeter, or at least that the film would do well internationally. The movie would have been a great jumping off point for a Dracula or even Universal Monster franchise. As it stands now, I’m guessing the movie will become a cult hit via streaming, but it…
Did you at least read the opening paragraph before shooting down to comments?
Silo is one of the first book series adapted to TV that I’m willing to say the TV show is miles better than the book. World building, character development, and plotting are definitely richer and more fully considered in the televised version.
Yeah... that’s not at all how Ahsoka was in any of the EU stuff she was in. She’s had a range of emotions, a range of experiences, but she’s always been more... alive... than Dawson is playing her. Dawson is going deep into some kind of patient mysticism that just doesn’t feel like the character to me.
“rumors that Hayden Christensen will soon appear on the show. If that’s true, it almost certainly has to be in a flashback (or as a Force Ghost).”
All the other major streaming services and studios are pulling the same crap. Disney are just the latest. Rather than killing off the providers, the solution is to close down this loophole in the tax law which allows them to get away with it in the first place.
Add Snowpiercer to this list. The fourth and final series completed filming and post production but was again buried for a tax write off by TNT. It was one of the few times Sean Bean didn’t get killed off (or at least not yet).
Whatever law or rule or whatever makes it beneficial to bury a finished series (and I’m not necessarily talking about Nemo, here, so much as things like Prodigy and Willow) really needs to be changed ASAP.
As part of the streamer’s cost-saving “content removal plan,” Deadline reports Disney+ is no longer moving forward with its Captain Nemo TV series, Nautilus, despite having finished filming its first season.
Bummer! I may have a watched a couple of episodes of the original, but I never missed an episode of Doogie Kamealoha, M.D. It was very positive, upbeat, and lovely. I was looking forward to more. I am really over Disney+, for all the non-Marvel/non-Star Wars cancellations, and for the crap Marvel. Cancelled. I can…
I asked for the sequel.
