I did background for three years in my 30’s and I now have a hold on my SAG membership in my 50’s and I understood the issues and the stakes without “education.” He understood. He’s just a big enough sorta Star that he didn’t care about what happened to schmoes like me and didn’t feel we were worth the strike. I’m

Credit where credit is due, this dumb idiot said some stupid shit, but walking it all back (with a little face saving caveat) and joining the picket line is the right conciliatory measure.

It’s not a good movie overall. However its first 10 minutes are about as good as any other Spidey material out there.

One would also expect that the agreements will have a lot in common wherever practical.

It depends on the thing in question. Like right now Jeopardy is unsure when or if they’ll be able to run the next Tournament of Champions because Jeopardy is a struck show by the WGA but not SAG-AFTRA- because it involves writing but not acting.

They’re playing their own game. They’re not fools, when the previous offer went out and bits got leaked to the press by “someone” friendly to the studios’ cause, the WGA went with both barrels in response. A lot of negotiations work best when the details are kept behind closed doors, and as long as the studios don’t

If memory serves (and please correct me if I misread this), WGA and SAG-AFTRA have basically agreed not to cross each other’s picket lines if one reaches an agreement before the other. So even if this is an acceptable deal, the AMPTP will have to also reach a deal with the actors if they want to get things moving.

This is not a Gunn film - it was developed and filmed under the old regime (the final one, I believe). The early reviews of The Flash were similarly effusive.

There are many reasons Flash flopped, the quality of the film isn’t one of them.

Unacceptable. When I purchase a Mickey Mouse game I expect murder.

I caught an advanced screening with the director in ATX last weekend.

That means nothing. Discovery Warner was also impressed with the Flash, which got a lukewarm reception at best. Lol

I bought tickets for this 3 weeks ago and I still can’t believe it’s honest to God happening. I’m glad it’s going over so well!

Yeah, you’d think it could at least let you bounce on enemies to stun them, but I guess as long as it’s still fun...

Finally, Peacock has released a trailer for its John Wick prequel series, The Continental, premiering this September 22.

This is a great tip. But how often is the donation box a “hot” item? I mean, it always seemed pretty random. But hey, if you get lucky, and you still play Animal Crossing like myself, good to know!

Such a great start to the game having just begun a new island. It just tends to feel a little dead once you finish

I dunno, the first 3 or 4 Dark Tower books are essentially fantasy adventures with gunplay.  You don’t really get into horror elements (which I think are Flanagan’s wheelhouse) until after Wizard and Glass, when King really leaned into corralling all of his works into Roland’s world.

Basically this. I don’t know if it’s ultimately a good idea to adapt The Dark Tower, but if anyone is going to do it and get it right, it’s Flannagan.

I trust Flannagan but man does he have a high bar to reach.

They had better let The Dark Tower be weird this time. And FFS first scene had better be ” The Man in Black fled accross the desert, and the Gunslinger followed”
