Considering how well the War on Drugs, War on Poverty, and War on Terror have gone, I don't think creating a War on Child Trafficking will have good results.

Dan Stevens continues to surprise and delight with the projects he chooses.

Also, as far as I can tell the movie has been filming more or less continuously since June 2021, presumably with an original release date planned for sometime last year. It’s been delayed repeatedly as the studio has responded to what it considers critical issues — reducing Amber Heard’s part due to the Depp bullshit,

Seeing as how Dune is a Legendary production — they financed the movies and own the rights — I could see them deciding, fuck this, we’re going to another studio, if not for Part Two then definitely for Messiah.

I mean... there is no way on God’s Green Earth Aquaman is releasing in December. And no, it has nothing to do with the strikes. Well... maybe since they can’t do the reshoots now.  It is less than 5 months from release and we have seen NOTHING. No teasers, no trailers, no promotional material.  Nada.  it is not even

The longer the strikes drag on, the shorter “Morning Spoilers” gets.

“We can’t make movies without actors.  We can’t even market movies without actors.  But we don’t want to pay the actors.  And don’t even get me started on writers.”

I can wait. Gives me a chance to catch up on my considerable backlog of stuff.

Where was the review? Or are you just virtue signaling  about a movie where they have to give free tickets away?

Lol, you think there is a global pedophile conspiracy and that JFK Jr is still alive.

A movie so good, they have to give tickets away for people to see it.

It’s almost like it’s being astroturfed by wealthy donors, in the same way all the garbage conservative books get bought by the thousands to force their way up the Best Sellers list.

What “realities” does the film expose? It’s based on a true story that was widely reported in the media when it originally happened, and most of the film takes place in Central and South America, a place that the target audience has little-to-no sympathy for when they come to the States to seek asylum.

The $15 million is a little bit of a misnomer since the story said it was first purchased by Fox then by its producer. There’s got to be some additional sunk cost to the film since it’s been passed around.

I am shocked... it didn’t involve accusations of inappropriate behavior with the children he rescued.

Donations, mostly. I mean there were tweets online how theaters were sold out and only a few people where in the theater.

This fascist propaganda and piece of shit movie is the cinematic equivalent of “Moms For Liberty.”

A $100 million gross on a $15 million budget is far from unheard of, but it is unusually successful for an independent release, true. It would be informative to know just how much of that success comes from the “Pay It Forward” program and how much comes from repeat viewings or word-of-mouth sales.
