I loved Temple of Doom, too. When I was a kid, I had no idea there was a mixed reaction because I thought it was amazing. It’s still amazing, in spite of the problematic aspects.

The ride was based on the animated parts of SONG OF THE SOUTH, but the name “Splash Mountain” came from Michael Eisner wanting to tie it in with Disney’s hit movie “SPLASH” around that time. Eisner even wanted Madison the Mermaid to make a cameo in the ride somewhere. It’s so odd that “Splash” and “Song of the South”…
Sometime in the 90s, James Cameron made some big comment about how movie tickets for larger budget movies like his should cost more — maybe $20. And I remember thinking that was absolutely crazy. Of course, now I’ll routinely spend more than that for a special format movie ticket, like IMAX or 4DX or ScreenX.
I’m surprised we haven’t gotten a proper Beta Ray Bill yet. (Aside from the Easter Egg nod in RAGNAROK.)
I was excited for the Obi-Wan show because I thought it would be amazing to see what Ewan could do with that character and better writing/direction than the prequels -- but the writing for the Obi-Wan show was excruciating.
What about Obi Wan Kenobi’s brother?! Rob Kenobi? That’s gotta be something they pick up at some point?
Agreed. Spare Jake Lloyd all the grief he endured. We got to see Mark Hamill play Luke across the original trilogy, it would have been better to see one actor portray Anakin across the prequel trilogy.
It only cost $102 million to produce my favorite GIF.
This has been an open tab in my browser for months and I finally got around to watching it.
I loved The Last of Us, and loved The Last of Us 2 even more. The games are amazing but the writing and performances were the best I’ve experienced in any videogame and, honestly, better than most film/tv I’ve seen. So it’s weird seeing other actors portray these characters in live action. I am very curious what this…
I don’t want to see her character get killed. I feel like that would be the only thing left for them to do to her character.
THR also reports Dermot Mulroney will be playing “a cop” in Scream 6.
The Deadpool movies are rated “R”, but it’s all still very juvenile and targeted at an adolescent audience. It’s not like a Paul Verhoeven “R”.
It’s funny how Top Gun 2 is being treated like a Merchant Ivory picture because it’s not based on a comic book.
Cujo Fun Fact (courtesy of Wikepedia):
Hulk is tough to get right somehow. I think the MCU finally got here with Ruffalo. This seems a little trickier -- balancing the look of the actor with the look of the character, making her very muscular but not quite like a female body builder.
Hagrid’s Magical Motorbikes? Are we ignoring Potter IP?
Shudder has some cool content but... the picture quality sucks! I think their max resolution is 720p? They really need to upgrade their picture quality.
I saw the title “DESTROY ALL NEIGHBORS” and thought it was an adaptation of the videogame “Zombies Ate My Neighbors”.
These are essentially movie pitch materials dressed up like a “graphic novel”.
