I like how it’s the Spirit Halloween versions of all these characters.

And in a world of unlimited universes, it seems like it would be very easy to resurrect Nat.  The same way that Gamora is still alive.  The multiverse is terrific narrative duct tape.

They’re waving to help them set up the shots but they’re not shooting the scenes with masked people.  Those are stand-ins.

Star Wars Visions will stream on Dinsey+ from September 22.

And the reaction was, you know, ‘We want Suicide Squad from the mind of James Gunn.’ That’s what it is. So it’s not a sequel, it’s not a reboot. It’s James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad.’

It’s fascinating to me how often they try to make Fantasy Island work.

My favorite forgotten movie is 1984's ELECTRIC DREAMS.  Only place I’ve been able to find it is on YouTube.  Loved it as a child.

That last episode was my favorite episode of the series so far. (A series I haven’t completely loved out of the gate.)  I know that villains and semi-villains don’t always get a love interest, but I’ve liked that Loki hasn’t been depicted with any love interests. Keeps him more interesting, perhaps. And I think it

I’d make the comparison to the TRANSFORMERS movies, which I find nearly unwatchable. The F&F franchise has a strong set of characters that they treat with a lot of affection. I don’t think Bay is capable of affection. Bay has all-star casts that come across poorly — amazing comedic performers who aren’t funny because

My first 4DX movie since the pandemic hit! Outstanding and definitely a format that can’t be (easily) replicated at home.  4DX is particularly good at simulating vehicles so the F&F series are a good pairing generally.

Spielberg started in TV and has always done TV things, including the original Amazing Stories in the 80s. I don’t feel like this new partnership is necessarily a walking-back of his previous bad-take that Netflix movies should only be considered TV-movies. His buddy Scorsese (a fellow old-man with bad-takes on new

I agree. That said, I think Gunn is a better writer than David Ayer. The trailer for the first Suicide Squad movie was cut in a way that resembled a James Gunn/GotG romp —

100% agree. I feel like WB was trying to play catch-up to Marvel when it began the Snyderverse and kind of rushed toward a Justice League movie, then burned out. On a creative executive level, they just don’t have a Kevin Feige person. So they stopped trying to chase the MCU model, tossed the shared-universe executive

Spielberg used to talk about how he’d lose half the crew for the creepy crawler sequences. Snakes, insects, rats. And you feel it when you watch those scenes. Giant CGI ants don’t carry the same weight for me.

REDNECK MUNSTERS: greenlit!

RE 7 was too intense for me. I’m a horror fan but there’s something about the conceit of survival horror games — where you’re a non-fighter who’s underpowered and forced to flee from conflict/death — really doesn’t appeal to me. (Similar reason I don’t love games that overly rely on stealth.)

I have a collection of the earliest Peanuts comics, where the characters looked a little different. They are sensational and I highly recommend. I was born in ‘76 and was an avid reader of newspaper comic strips growing up. I always read Peanuts but, honestly, it was never one of my favorites. The latter day comics

Born in ‘76, loved He-Man as a kid.  I loved the action figures because most of them did unique things -- this one sprays water out of its mouth, that one can spin around.  Star Wars action figure were just plastic figures, but He-Man action figures did things.  And I really liked the tv series -- I’d watch it after

This is what gets me. First, this weakness seems so easily exploitable, it would seem like the military would be able to turn the tide before most of humanity was wiped out. Loud places would seem entirely preferable for survival. The only way I feel like the premise could work is if it took place in a remote location
