Shared universe!  Guess he was available that day...

RE: Spider-Man/Venom

I actually kind of like Man of Steel, too.  With a few key issues.

At first glance I thought this was cool because Cavill has the potential to be a truly great Superman if given better material—but this isn’t even referencing something that Cavill did AS Superman.  It’s referencing some other character the actor played.  (Like if he’d done this move as Superman, it would be as if it

The ice cream is also cursed.

Really? Thank you!! Could you post your mailing address?

I hope the prequel shows how Black Widow got her signature... does Black Widow have a signature anything?

I really want the lightsaber-making experience but I don’t want to own a lightsaber. (And deal with packing it up and flying home with it.)

I didn’t think Avatar would do that well because it’s not based on something with a big following and didn’t have any big stars and it just looked like weird fantasy — but obviously it was massive.  That James Cameron box office voodoo didn’t quite transfer to Alita.

I don’t disagree with you — that Teen-Disney romance subplot was wince-worthy. (I think Cameron can tend to get in trouble with romance stuff.) But I just was so surprisingly disarmed by the entire package, flaws and all.

I didn’t expect to, but I just loved ALITA: BATTLE ANGEL. (In fact, I’d prefer a series of sequels to ALITA over sequels to AVATAR.)

That Hashtag Show reports Ludi Lin is Marvel’s top choice to play Shang-Chi, while Donnie Yen is currently under consideration for an undisclosed supporting role.

Agreed.  I liked the whole character of “CYBORG” a lot more than I expected to.  With better material...

I’m the most weary GNR/Axl defender and I’ve gotta say, he’s been on his best behavior for a while — to the point where I do think it must have been some medication thing. Arriving on stage 15 minutes early and getting a city’s name wrong are probably the mildest GNR infractions in their history.

APPLE JACKS were one of my favorite cereals growing up. Flat out. Saturday morning cartoons and a bottomless bowl of sugary cereal.

You can also listen to Bear McCreary’s toy instrument theme from the new Child’s Play. Stick to the end to hear a lullaby from Mark Hamill.

I miss Ebert, and he was so right. (He was also a little more forgiving of movies in his later years.)
