He barely speaks in that first movie. A few movies in and he’s got a whole stand-up routine. You’re right on, they TOTALLY lost sight of what makes the story scary/interesting. Dreams give you too much of a license to go crazy — and so you had this succession of music video directors trying to make a splash with their

I actually worked with those guys, a few years ago. Developing a project that never quite got a greenlight. So every time I see one of their movies, it’s a particularly weird/bittersweet experience, because I’m familiar with their development process and can imagine how all the beats were worked out. “There should be

They tried to bring back — and focus on — the “child killer” aspect of Freddy in the attempt to reboot NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET. What a uniquely joyless movie.

I *love* the (original) idea — that Andy’s more culpable, in a way, and tethered to the actions of this doll. I reckon that’s explored with this new version.

What would have been totally inspired and way creepier — they should have given the BANANA SPLITS property to the “DON’T HUG ME I’M SCARED” creatives and just let them go absolutely bonkers with it.

I like how they fight on the street in the real world and fuck in the virtual world.

I made this little animation for a Photoshop Battle yesterday, using some older Batman Returns toys.

I love Alita — don’t be disparaging my precious Alita to cover for the failure of this turkey!

This is why you don’t punch down.  You pick a fight with someone in a lower weight class, you lower yourself and elevate them.

The episode reminded me of this old Barbara Kruger gem.

I don’t know how they’re gonna convince Dan Aykroyd to be in another Ghostbusters movie.

They literally taped it a few blocks from where I was living and I didn’t know anything about the show before I got there.  And it was so cool to see this fully-formed little community.  Everyone went to drink at this local bar afterwards, it was really sweet.

This is what I’m hoping for because I want that multiverse, baby! And a multiverse would be a great way to eventually incorporate Fantastic Four/X-Men/Alien xenomorphs/Die-Hards/Avatars/Revenges of Nerds...

Fighting in the real world and fucking in the virtual fighting game!

“Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark” still feels like a clumsy retcon title to me.
