I didn’t get very far, but Gotham had a peculiar tone. Tried to explore the psychology of the characters but was simultaneously weird and camp.  I’m sure there are some good Penguin stories in the history of the comics that might be drawn upon for inspiration.

I’ve tremendous fondness for the delightfully strange BATMAN RETURNS.... but the depiction of Penguin as a violent, unrefined little beast stuffed into a tuxedo—overseeing an army of circus freaks—did more to serve Tim Burton’s artistic proclivities than it did to serve the character and his history, IMHO. I didn’t

Everybody wants to launch their own “shared universe” to grab at what Marvel built methodically.

Benny Safdie’s Good Time is a wonderful, unpredictable and absolutely crazy little movie that I thought would get more notice. I haven’t seen this kid in a lot (since I haven’t seen them Twilight movies), but this was the first movie I’ve seen him in where I took notice and thought, “This kid’s got the goods...”

THANK YOU for covering the story in the comment section. I feel the same. The worst part wasn’t “Who’s going to helm this movie for Disney??” — it was the fact that this alt-right troll king duped Disney into firing someone because he didn’t like their politics.

I cooled on fan theories during the 6th season of Game of Thrones. There was some theory I really liked regarding Arya — and I liked it way better than what eventually happened, which made me enjoy the season *less*.

As I do when I’ve already bought a ticket, I’ve just skimmed the first and last paragraph of this review and I can’t hardly wait...

I respectfully disagree with the argument that Idris Elba is too old.

Likewise, I enjoy all these movies. And I also remember being an adolescent and the illicit joy of going to see R-rated movies without adult supervision.

Seriously, I’d love for Elba to be the next Bond, it would totally revitalize the franchise.

Honestly, the R-rated DEADPOOL movies are *ideal* for adolescents. It’s some curse words and some nudity, but the humor is dead set at the adolescent age bracket.

I fear the only way those... traditionalists... would accept an Idris Elba would be they pulled a Spider-Man and had him be a Bond from a multiverse.

They kept Judi Dench as M from the Pierce era.  I think they’re all right to maintain the supporting cast while changing Bonds.

Dracarys!

I’d easily prefer a Moneypenny series over a Pennyworth one.

LOGAN really was sensational. I think one of the greatest comic book movies. Hard-R but not in the juvenile way that the Deadpool movies are R-rated. Brutal and heartfelt and wrenching and funny and easily my favorite of the FOX X-Men movies.

I heard that Steven Spielberg rode the original JURASSIC PARK ride — and right before the big drop at the end, they stopped the ride and he was let off.

Gone With The Wind is... very clearly problematic now.

That’s the thing: by the end of the movie, he’s fully become this creature. He says the sequels are a family saga that takes place in this world. Seems the larger story is about this world and this species, rather than this one character’s initial entryway.
