It’s funny — when I was growing up in the 80s/90s, one of the big conversations was widescreen aspect ratios and how most films were revised into cropped “pan & scan” versions when they came to home video. A lot of people didn’t like seeing the “letterboxed” versions at home because the picture didn’t fill up the

Spielberg’s my first favorite filmmaker (as he was for many), but he’s a dinosaur shaking his fist at an extinction-level event. To suggest that a film like ROMA is worth less than a film that had a traditional release is absurd. And, obviously, ROMA’s award successes pave the way for his friend Martin Scorsese’ s new

I read somewhere that “erotic pie-making scene” is a contractual thing for him.  It’s what the fans want to see.

Will Russian Doll be in this? Shared Universe? Russian Dolliverse?

You’re doing the Lord’s work!

Kill it with fire.

10. The mystery of the Black Spire will remain a mystery: Having this mysterious namesake in the center of town suits everyone just fine. “There is a mystery to it and we kind of like the idea that there is no answer to it,” Margaret Kerrison, the managing story editor at Walt Disney Imagineering

There are no bathrooms in the Star Wars universe!

Variety notes that the decision came down to scheduling and was allegedly an amicable one...

Yeah, that’s the only way that good have been produced. I can’t imagine any studio exec signing off on all of that incredible crazy.

Those miserable Mens-Rights-Activist incels are totally storing up their garbage “reviews” to flood the opening day. Hell hath no fury like the impotent rage of dorks.

Awww, I hope Bricken’s eyes are impeached and better eyes are sworn in soon.

That’s a brilliant pitch! Gremlins on a Plane, perfect callback to the Twilight Zone episode. And then just when you think it’s gonna be a super contained thriller, you totally go massive with the reflecting pool and turn DC upside down.  Get that President Clamp continuity in there.  This is the best idea I’ve heard

Nailing the tone is super tricky.  Gremlins 2 is basically a complete parody of the first movie.  I like the audacity of it  -- it’s amazing that NONE of that madness got vetoed by any executives during the development process -- but it’s played for more laughs and silliness than the first movie.

I read or heard somewhere that there had been plans to make Gizmo turn into a full gremlin at some point — which seems like an obvious thing to do with him but something they chose to avoid in both movies.

For the record, Jordan Peele says “GET OUT” was a social thriller, and that “US” is a legit horror movie. I’ve got to respect the fact that he makes that distinction. I know a lot of people who’d just lump them all together under the banner of “HORROR”...

This could go well or really poorly.

I think that person may have been referring to the Lion King remake.

If I glanced at that Lion King poster without looking at the names, I’d think it was just a re-release of the original movie.

I love BLUE SMITH. He looks goofy as all get out but I want him to look like the genie in the original movie, and I’m sure his look is gonna get a lot better in the finished version. They could have stayed safe and just made him look like regular Will Smith but I don’t want safe. I want CRRRAAAAZZZZYYY.
