They’re really trying to avoid using the Daily Bugle...
They really should. The fun of the 80s version is how it’s geared toward selling action figures, so it’s filled with all these colorful, flamboyant characters.
After reading this story arc in the comics, I was sooo excited for what the show would do with all the material... and I watched the show completely mangle the entire thing.
Creepy dolls are evergreen in horror, but boy... James Wan and his buddies sure do love those MUSIC STABS!!!
Not claymation (which would be just as time consuming as regular animation), looks like puppet work with some special effects. They’ve used puppets before to get around the whole animation hurdle:
I loved the writing and the characters. The puzzles were sheer madness.
Did something inspire you to seek out the old games?
Planetfall is sooo good. I learned to type playing those games, too.
Bring on the MERMAN!!!
It’s outrageous. “Day of the Tentacle” is on Steam, remastered.
King’s Quest, Maniac Mansion, some really good point-and-clicks back in the day...
The younger folk, greedily devouring the nostalgia of us olds...
THANK YOU! Yes, I read through Ready Player One and I’m sooo curious how they’re going to adapt the “ZORK” section. It’s weird because it’s one of those slightly forgotten IPs and, assuming it’s still part of the adaptation, this movie is oddly going to be a way that “ZORK” is going to be seen on the big screen.
Really! So she’s watching just a wall of text and a guy talking over it, reading the text and reading what he types, and she was engaged?
Really sticking it to those classic text adventures: text adventure industry, ya burnt!
Finished getting my dang taxes together!
That’s how she’s got all those powers: she’s using a damn cheat code!
Fixed the poster.
I wonder if they’re going to let him actually make this one.
I think it potentially might help, in that respect. So they can be independent (but connected) narratives and operate uniquely.
