No charging after midnight.
More accurately, it costs the people who pay cash or don’t have cards with rewards programs. Being poor is expensive!
But not personally. You pay those marked up prices no matter what. Plus, even cash isn’t free to a merchant. There’s security, handling, and theft costs associated with cash they don’t incur with credit cards.
I rarely get hit with some sort of CC surcharge, so everyone is paying the same amount I am whether they pay cash or use credit. If I go to a store and there is no CC surcharge, I pay with a CC and you pay with cash I get cash back and you don’t, even though we paid the exact same purchase price. Who wins in that…
I used to think the same thing.
Yet another responsible gun owner ‘fearing for her life’
So now every Uber driver has to hire an armed guard? And of course, every Uber rider will have to bring along his/her armed guard too. More guns more better!
This is literally you - “But hey, at least you got a jab in on the political party you don’t like.”
Let’s call it what it is.
And yet it too often does. “I feared for my life” is a Get Out of Jail Free Card in nearly half of the US.*
She was in no immediate danger of death or serious injury. She didn’t even do the reasonable minimum to verify her suspicions nor did she attempt other means of escape. Shooting someone in the head on a hunch shouldn’t fly for self defense.
The TX governor just pardoned a guy who got convicted for murdering a BLM protestor, so even if she does get convicted it’s not a sure thing in Texas that she stays in jail.
Sounds like more guns are needed to prevent this type of situation.
Ok someone, be honest with me here. What are her chances that she walks away scot free (or mostly scot free) after basically murder because of some bullshit like “Stand Your Ground” or something because she “felt” she was being kidnapped, which justified her use of deadly force as self defense.
She’s been told (incorrectly) for the past ten years that the borders are “open” and that anyone and everyone can just wander across and immediately be given welfare and some puppies by the US Govt.
What a shame there wasn’t a good guy with a gun there to protect him from that Kentucky thug.
“We should put armed guards in every Uber.”

Good job America.
One only gets the tax credit if one has that much taxes to put the credit against. It also does not work if you are into the Alternative Minimum Tax category, which a lot of us are in CA, even though we’re not rich, because the AMT is not indexed for high-cost states. Also, you have to pay sales tax on that $7,500.
