I’d love to chat and tell you all about my day. But no one would ever see it. I’m in the grays forever and ever...

I really don’t get the point.  If the performance isn’t better than the Civic Si, why pay extra for it?  And really, a CVT in an Integra? Come on, those are barely acceptable in plain econoboxes, and seem completely out of place in this supposedly much elevated car.

I don’t know, if they really cared about engagement, they might think about getting some of us out of the greys.  As it is, I almost never comment or even look at the comments, because no one ever sees my comments.

I had a friend who had an E34 5 series, back in the 90's. The odometer stopped counting at 50,000 miles. It didn’t go blank, it just stopped counting.

Oh man, how is it that I lived through the 80's and somehow didn’t know about this.  What fun, thanks for sharing it!

Well, except that the GV70 is a bulbous, vertically stretched thing that has none of the grace of the shooting brake

The very rude Mr. Blandings gets to comment whatever he wants, and yet here I am wanting to say something nice but am in the greys forever and ever

For my personal situation, charging infrastructure and fast charging times are more important factors than rebates and tax incentives. Financial incentives would be welcome for sure. But the fact is that I don’t have a dedicated garage space to put a charger in. The only way I could reasonably have a BEV would be if

Thank you for providing insight. But geez, it sounds like Kinja is designed to have the current set of commenters and no more. Also I wonder how anyone can expect a comment to get stars and replies if the default is to not even show the greys. It also seems like it’s pretty hard to get from non-grey back to the greys,

I had a look at my profile, and I haven’t made a huge number of comments, but they date back to September ‘18. I guess they don’t have anyone assigned to look at the comments pending review? There is one anomaly: A comment I made in May of last year is not grey.

Since we seem to be getting “get out the the greys” cards, how about me? I don’t even know why I’m in the greys.  It must have been something I said, but honestly I don’t know what that could have been.  Pretty please?

I crashed my car into the bridge.  I don’t care!  I love it!

This! Yes! BEV fans rarely seem to consider that many people don’t have their very own personal garage space to put their car in every night. With the very poor public charging network America has in place right now, it would be very difficult for those garage-less people to make a BEV work.

Indeed! It’s seems insulting that they would go crazy with the lighting everywhere else, but neglect it in a place where it would actually be useful

This makes me wonder: If you took the dashboard off of a 1991 Grand Wagoneer, would you find the metal dash of the 1963 Wagoneer underneath of it?

I don’t know. It looks like the production car has been toned down to the point that all of the excitement of the show car design is lost. This seems to happen all the time. Nominally all of the elements of the show car are there. But they’re so minimized that it ends up looking like a very ordinary car.

If it matters to them so much, can’t they just design it such that it can only go in oriented that way? Just put little slots on the back side with matching features on the wheel so you can’t put it in wrong?

But the new Z4 on the same platform somehow manages to look much less bulbous. And it has to conform to the same pedestrian safety regs. I think Toyota’s styling department is just really weird. Few of their other current offerings look very good to me either.

In my case, it’s because I don’t have a dedicated garage in which to install a charger. I’ll have to use a charging station somewhere in order to use an electric car, much like I use a gas station now.  And I don’t want to have to wait a long time for the car to charge while I’m there.

In French, it almost starts!
