You’re probably right. Even with the basic rigging they likely use maya can sometimes be a glitchy mess in 2017. I can’t really imagine the 1997 version .

I definitely thought it was interesting. Part of the problem was when I watched it’s such a beautiful day I went in cold knowing nothing about it. I wasn’t prepared for bleak. I just knew it was in animated and in my Netflix queue. It’s kind of interesting how more main stream American animated features have set up

Good to know. Thanks! I might have to push it further up my to watch list.

I’ve been meaning to watch the first World of Tomorrow. Do you know how it compares to It’s a Beautiful Day? I wasn’t prepared for how depressing It’s a Beautiful Day was going to be and might not have enjoyed it as much as I could have.

I’d pay good money to not see him dance. Your description sounds real gross.

I don’t know if it was super difficult to do the animation in 1997. With the exception of the pilot which was cutout paper, South Park is done in the 3D animation software Maya. Even in the 90s the rigs would have been simple enough to not give them too much trouble.

The hatred of honeydew in this show really speaks to me. It really is the worst.

I think I heard about this on You Made It Weird. I forget the name of the person being interviewed, but someone who was running a comedy club up the street helped catch the guy.

Your comment is nested on my phone without kinjaimprove, but I think it only goes one level. Seems like they’re dropping the ball and it wouldn’t be too difficult add it to the desktop site/add more levels.

You can reply to people without it jumping to the top of the page if you use chrome for iPhone.

The juried categories are only judged by people in whatever field the award is for and they can pick more than one or zero winners.

I made the mistake of making the Gravity Falls intro my ringtone/alarm and now it makes me cringe when I hear it on the show.

I thought it was the other way around, but I agree that they were a good pair.

Do the newer episodes still ruin the show if you stopped watching 10-15 years ago?

I watched Spirited Away for the first time last week. I remember it being on Cartoon Network a lot when I was growing up, but never ended up watching past the first 15-20 minutes since the character designs were a little too unsettling for mini me.

Some European studios still do some elements as handmade. The backgrounds for Ernest and Celestine were all watercolor paintings.

That’s probably true. I love NIMH which I saw as a kid, but hate The Last Unicorn which I saw last year.

I always thought their eyes were like that because they were both blind. That’s a cool theory though.

Agreed. The imagery gets a bit repetitive even if it’s kinda cool though.

It was doing that to me too when I tried to log in on my phone. I guess we can just never log out.
