It seems like a better solution would have been turning off images. People sure like to overcomplicate things.

I agree. None of the character designs seem distinct for Leap. I think that if we were to compare them to the designs in Up or Shrek we would also see a greater variety of body types and shapes. The main characters in Up are a pretty good example. Carl is boxy and the kid is more circular.
I’m probably still going to see this since I know someone who worked on it. Apparently they spent a lot of time with a ballet consultant to get the dance animation right.
Maybe it’s an uncanny valley sort of thing. Disney, Illumination and Dreamworks tend to have big heads, but the overall designs are a bit more stylized.

Bummer. This is one of those things that I signed up for only intending to stick around for the free trial period and wound up really liking.
For anyone who's going listening to the new wtf from today, the guy from the first interview is awful, but the second interview is a good listen.
I think I read somewhere that they were planning to make stitch the new mascot if they lost the copyright for Mickey.
Animators don't need to draw anymore. It's the pervy character designers that are adding boobs to everything.
It's pretty in line with the rest of Gaycation. I think the point of her show/engaging with these people is to show how there are vibrant gay communities all over the world that exist alongside oppressive governments/cultural norms. For example, the Brazil episode contrasted Carnival with an interview with a serial…
I have. Your mileage will vary depending on how much you like alt comedy, Monty Python and snl.
