That’s what I love about Smash Bros, every character has similar inputs so you only have to remember what their moves are rather than how to perform them.

I appreciate you being understanding where I was not!

I guess that’s the root of it, it seems to me (bear with me, this is a toxic thought I’m following to its root) that if you can’t work out the buttons on a very limited game such as this, you would struggle with the majority of games on a controller. That’s the poor

Spatial puzzles under time limits sounds like it could be hard no matter the input. Plus, new tetris has a hold button and a slow/stop time button, it’s doubled in difficulty!

You do make a good point though, it’s a tough one. I find it hard to understand, genuinely, not trying to big myself up or anything, I’ve not

Different people get different things out of games. That’s why difficulty settings can be so good, because they offer more options to enjoy a game in different ways.

Twitter sounds like a safe assumption.

You are correct in your supposition. The reactions I’ve had to such matters have been more vitriolic and concerning than on any other subject.

Games with a simple set of inputs/actions can still have a rhythm or flow that might just not click with the player; especially if it demands quick thinking or reactions, or has a lot going on.

Fyi, in the UK anyone age 10-17 can be arrested and charged with a crime and can get a criminal record. Until age 18 they have youth courts and can’t be named in the news. I worry they might be in my school 😅

They definitely missed an opportunity to solidify their bonafides by hitting Cyberpunk out of the park. They’ve made improvements and it’s actually a pretty good game now, but the narrative around the botched launch is set in stone. Still, I have faith they can deliver a good Witcher experience again. I for one loved

That’s fair, but I think the full picture of why they enjoy such positive PR and fan goodwill requires looking at GOG and their general demeanor not just their games. They enjoy a widespread positive perception among the gamer community, and they don’t just love them for their games, they love them for a lot of

That would be great.

I feel like saying they ‘went through’ Oblivion and Fallout 3 is a bit unfair. Oblivion was universally acclaimed (93%+ ratings), charted in the top 15 with 3 million units in its first year, and won a bunch of GOTY awards. Fallout 3 had a similar story: universal acclaim (90%+), 5 million units in its first month,

Wouldn’t Bethesda be similar? All they did was Elder Scrolls for years (and Fallout is just post-apocalyptic ES, much to the chagrin of actual Fallout fans). CDPR made three Witcher games, all of which — iirc — were considered good.

I hope so. I feel like there was a satisfying ending to Geralt and Ciri’s story. I’d rather there be a new lead than have their good ending snatched away from them.

Eh, Witcher 2 was pretty well received and a really good game (for the time, it hasn’t aged super-well). And the first Witcher definitely had a cult following. To me, it feels like they were a studio really close to hitting it big and then finally did with Wild Hunt, which almost everyone agrees is an all-time great.

Only concern with a Ciri game would be she’s just too powerful. Her sections were super fun to play but didn’t feel like a “witcher” section (says this guy with the huge experience of beating TW3 and like... starting the other 2).

let’s take a good long look at CDPR’s actual released games. i’m not sure they’ve actually made enough games, and certainly not enough good ones, to say with any predictive certainty what they’re doing or how good the product will be. they’ve made a grand total of 1 great game. sure, it was a game that even exceeded

The book hints that Ciri’s children will be of major importance. I think they could do that and jump forward about fifty years in the universe and start telling new stories.

The medallion looks almost lynx-like, plus we already got a pretty sweet farewell for Geralt. Maybe a new school of witchers?
