I asked the Ringer if they were covering the Deadspin awards... Still awaiting a response.

He was single them and probably had 3 Denny’s waitress’ in every town.
I’d say this is absolutely spot-on. Like he is constantly trying to mess with absolutely everyone. Make the joke funny to people who want to laugh, uncomfortable or insulting for the people that it’s about, unfunny to the people that thought it was a good idea to put him there, and afterwards is snickering to himself…
Norm McDonald is not a comedian I initially appreciated, but came to respect when I learned that his shtick is essentially his commitment to whatever bit he’s in.
He turned it into a Roast . . . which is EXACTLY what it should be. This is a gorgeous, gorgeous piece of film, and it should be placed on a memory card and buried with the sports world's next time capsule. Side note - RIP Greg Giraldo.
Oh, the XFL reference - I remember that! How it attempted to rival the NFL with a league filled with men only pretending to be rapists and murderers.
I like the part where Norm pretends there's still an East Germany, just for the sake of saying "entire penis" on live television.
I got to meet Norm at a comedy show he did in Phoenix in July 2011 JUST before he was about to go on stage. He was flirting with the ticket girls at the door. He was totally awesome, we talked briefly. I told him basically exactly what AJ just said—that his ESPY monologue will never be topped.
@mmmSPAM: Clinton laughing about the weed is awesome.
That kind of funny takes balls, and it makes me sad that as a country we seem to not have them anymore.
@mmmSPAM: Funny watching Clinton during that Yeltsin joke at 3:50 or so..."do not laugh, do not set off international incident...do not laugh..."
That OJ joke at the end was great, if only for the uncomfortable reactions of everyone afraid to laugh.
ESPN had locked the video in the vault as they didn't want to admit that they invited Ryan Leaf to the ESPYs
@mmmSPAM:
i wonder if ESPN failed to watch this before they selected norm - also Norm is the best
Tiger was MUCH smarter back then. there were at least 3 people seated between him and his side piece
Anthony Mason is not amused.
Norm has always been comical but suffers from being politically incorrect.
