If people who bought an M5, C63 AMG, etc. really cared, you would see more of those at track days instead of 12 year old Corvettes and 20 year old Miatas. Enthusiasts know better. It does make me feel good passing brand new 911's and C7s in a 12 year old (mostly stock) Corvette though.

That was my first car, Chrome was still “in” back in 2002

I’ve been riding and racing dirtbikes all my life and though I prefer the Outdoor Nationals, Supercross is still great racing and it is a better “Spectator Sport” than outdoor. Since it was designed to fit in a stadium, you can see the whole track the entire time. The elevation changes at a place like Hangtown, Glen

The only car I’d want from the ‘80s is a GNX. Even then, I don’t know if I could buy it over, say, a Pontiac G8.

Chaparral 2J - Basically used fans to create a vacuum under the car. It had a 2-stroke engine powering tank engines and with skirts designed to articulate with the suspension, could create up to 1.5g downforce. It was 2 seconds per lap faster than it’s closest competitor and was outlawed by the SCCA the following year.

Get your crashing in on a dirtbike, then go street riding. At least no Chevy Tahoe is going to run you over out on a dirtbike trail.

Start riding a dirtbike before a streetbike. Learning to handle a motorcycle past the limit of grip will help tremendously when things go wrong on the street. Having grown up riding dirtbikes meant my first day on a streetbike was surprisingly easy. I can’t say the same for my friends who started on the street and

I had a 2002 (Then brand-new) in Sunset Orange. I loved that car when I was in High School and College, but I since have owned a G8 and Corvette among other cars. It served me well in autocross and got good mileage on the freeway. I miss it and have thought about getting a WS6. If I could find one in that color I’d

The depreciation curve happens to all cars, and at some point it will bottom out and eventually go back up (NSX for example). I think $25k-30k Hellcats are totally reasonable to think about in 10-15 years. Case in point, I bought my ‘02 C5 Z06 last April with 34k miles on it for $18k. I am the 3rd owner...

I got out of college, saved for a year and went looking at (then new) 2010 SS Camaro. I was fortunate to borrow my cousin’s new one for a couple of days while they were out of town to really see what it was like to live with. I couldn’t get over the lack of visibility out front, the blind spots in back, the absurdly

I don’t care how good the repair shop is, there is a 0% chance I take delivery of that car.

My dad did the same thing. I ended up with a Durango instead. Loaded up RT does almost everything the Tahoe will for $25k less than a comparable Tahoe.

My wife had no interest in cars before we met. She got a red 4 door Focus in college (the sedan instead of the hatchback). I’ve had an orange ‘02 Trans Am, ‘09 G8 and now an ‘02 Z06 and a ‘14 Durango R/T. I then turned her into a monster and we’ve had an LR2 that had 2 steering racks in 28k miles, and then (before the

My parents have an ‘05 SSR with the LS2 that my mom had to have and bought new when I was 18. Still have it today. I don’t know why everyone hates on it so much. Convertible truck that will run 1/4 miles in the (high) 13 second range? I always loved it.

Sidecar Motocross

People who buy a Camry or Corolla and complain they don’t like their car. News flash, it was never an “interesting” car. The only reason you buy one of those is because you didn’t look at anything else.

My dad did that with a ‘96 CBR600 F3. Could have sold it for twice the price but ended up keeping it. Good choice!

I drive a ‘14 R/T Durango and an ‘02 Z06. More attainable than the RR/Jag combo and I like mine just fine!
