My friends and I refer to the category as “six-pack movies” (which is a misnomer anyway since we typically sneak flasks in).

Even with bad service, I tip a minimum 15 percent (fine service is about 20 percent, etc.) and I do not have Mariah Carey levels of money. I really kinda think her lack of any tip whatsoever makes her a pretty trash person.

I’m not sure if it’s on purpose or not, but I enjoy that of the three questions for Ivanka quoted here, the first one isn’t even a question. It’s an invitation to brag.

The title of the FOX32 article doesn’t bother me so much, as it seems factual—Iowa homeowner said this dumb thing.” That doesn’t strike me as problematic, because you can report somebody said a dumb thing without endorsing the dumb thing they said.

I largely agree with your points on Black Christmas being a good candidate for occasional remakes; lack of a franchise makes it so you don’t have to erase tons of story, and a simple premise makes the production more malleable as a whole. Different movie, but these are also reasons why I am optimistic about a

My tinfoil hat thought on this movie was that Takal probably wanted to make a different horror movie, but some producer probably thought it was too much of a risk financially. Then somebody came up with the idea of taking Black Christmas and using that as the shell for the movie Takal actually wanted to make.

I think Bon Appetit TK counts as Youtubers, but I might not be the most qualified ref. The fact that there are some youtubers I like just propels me in the direction of voting for Logan Paul as he is the worst of at least two other categories aside from representing himself

I never knew this! I love that story, and it explains the silly last bits of dialogue.

And the crash?”

Holy shit, I wasn’t expecting the Hudson Hawk love in this thread.

My deciding factor in Paul vs. West was that West at least *has* contributed things of worth through some of his music. Paul has done literally no good during his time as a “celebrity.”

I’ve been thinking a lot about the next installments of Friday the 13th and Nightmare on Elm Street.

The last few non-blockbusters I’ve seen in theaters I thought “there was no reason for me to see that in a theater”

What Chappelle has become is a damned shame. Killing Them Softly might be the best stand-up special I’ve ever seen.

I like that reading of the final scene. I am curious how well the season supports the reading, though. I don’t recall Frank seeming hopeless in those final moments, but it’s been a while and my memory isn’t great.

Dammit, one of three. However, hard agree on your assessment of Shutter Island.

I gotta ask, if you’ve only seen two Scorsese movies, which two were they?

I agree that there is a clear quality disparity between the first and second seasons of The Punisher. I think it can best be seen in how each season ended.

I’m not, but I get that tolerances vary for other folks.

a bunch of them were pretty good, especially Jessica Jones and Luke Cage
