@2 replies: Been there, done that!
Congratulations on the purchase of your new Jeep! Some assembly required, you put it together!
@CopterBob: And you did a hell of a job!
Crack Pipe...although I suppose it would make an economical first pimpmobile.
@BroncoMech: Just a wee bit of torque there! Wow.
@Master P wonders when he can pre-order an FT-86: 1971 tire technology: not so advanced. Plus the thing IS a boat.
Words fail me.
@smalleyxb122: Who'd've thunk it?
@imiss2xwishbones: I'm pretty sure it is! Wow, talk about authentic!
@Prozach1: I was thinking that too!
@brreclark: It's surprising how fast an empty truck can be. With a manual, you can shift for speed too, so there you go. The FL70 sounds like a good rig to get a ticket with!
@Pete84: It's a DOT truck, so they were able to purchase it as a fleet vehicle. It's actually a pretty comfortable vehicle. I have no idea why they purchased it with a 5-speed. The granny-gear 1st is useless unless you've got a heavy load, so I always start out in 2nd.
One of our work trucks is a 2001 Chevy 3/4 ton HD with a 5-speed. That's actually rather fun to drive and it hauls balls when it's empty (although 1st is truly a granny gear that'll put your head through the windshield if you're not towing anything!)
Hell, I'd drive it just because it's so pimptastically ugly, but not for that kind of money!
@$kaycog: Oooh.....CaddyWagon awesomeness!
@fuhteng: Jalopnik is outsourcing to India now?
To be fair, it's not as if gasoline has never ignited and exploded, but a least you can smell gasoline, nor is it under hideous pressure.
@dudeman41: But it seemed to make sense on paper!
@TheFuzz_KFZ: And, he said the diesel powerplant was "pure rubbish."
