@Dirt Pirate: Ouch...it hurts just to look at that!

@Dirt Pirate: I'm surry Defe-a, I cun't dreefe-a yuoo tu IKEA thees effternuun. Bork Bork Bork!

I want one. Now. Anyone have $100,000 I can borrow?

@jon_daniels: But just think of all of the smug muscle-car owners you could smoke with this thing whilst packed to the hilt with camping gear 8)

@daroc57: Wagons have always been and will always be completely and utterly awsome. 520 HP doesn't hurt either!

@SmaartAasSaabr: Hmm, I looked for it on the Internets but alas, no dice. Definitely a clever way to illustrate the point!

@pz: Zoinks! You'd think one faux Mystery Machine would be enough for one county...or state, for that matter.

@Khaddar: Europeans seem to be well acquainted with the ins and outs of manual transmissions, whereas most Americans..not so much. Plus in the US, thanks to the proliferation of lawsuits, manufacturers of everything from toasters to alarm clocks to cars have to put warnings and interlocks to prevent people from

@SmaartAasSaabr: Well, given that manual transmissions are still the norm in Europe, I'm guessing European automakers would say "Come on, we'd really have to put in a safety system to prevent you from doing THAT???"

@DMCTYLER: And don't touch the flux capacitor.

You know, I just have a hard time believing that law enforcement would shut down somebody that sells something that goes so well with coffee.

@lionelbob: I know, but I was trying to be snarkastic. I guess I'll forget about comedy and keep my day job.

@eDayStat: +10 points for using what you had at hand. McGuyver would have been proud!

@agjios: Hmm, seems like different manufacturers implemented this at different times. I'm so used to the safety-conscious, protect-everyone-from-themselves nanny state, that I figured they would have done that in the mid 70's. It seems like a malaise thing to do.

@iantm: Didn't know it was that late. My '86 Topaz had an interlock (I know for certain, because the connector slipped off once).

@pj134: Yeah, my 68 year old mother drives an '05 Tacoma, and I remember seeing that too.

@karnevil: It came that way stock?

@EyeMWing: Wow.....I didn't think anything that new wouldn't have a starter interlock! Consider me edumacated!
