I was going to vote 9/11 conspiracy, but it wasn't a choice.
Anyone who can build their own transmission from the ground up is a god.
Nice price. It's cheap. It's an automotive icon (maybe for mediocrity, but still an icon). It'll turn heads. A car doesn't have to have 500 HP or be of ageless design to be interesting. For $3k, you can drive something that will start conversations wherever you go.
@TimTim: Jalopnik field trip!!!!
LOL...that guy in the civic gets some extra points.
@Triborough: Maybe Ontario isn't really mine to discover?

Well, it's a step in the right direction. It would be excellent for short trips around the city and maybe a short commute through low-speed traffic.
Like their heads were on fire and their asses were catching...
You mean honest-to-goodness "off road?"
@1000songs: It looks like something I'd see in Maine.
@CaptMatt15 is high on 9000 rpm: Maaaan, now I've got dirt in my wheels!!!!
You had me at "rope drive." I could even afford it for $3500!
@stephdumas: It can be 1982 all over again.
@Mike the Dog: I am in the corner with my dunce-cap on. I shouldn't be allowed near the computer before I've had my coffee.
@area_educator kids...: Yeah, this is what happens when I post the first thing in the morning BC (before coffee).
Wait, you mean Toyota is named after the Toyoda family?
@mytdawg: Jesus.....
I just crossed off Romania as a possible vacation destination.
