Introducing the 1982 AMC Festivus! (for the rest of us)

If you beat the cop, do you get the pink slip to the cruiser????

@Flathead Smith: And the radio reception you could get with this thing was freakin' awesome!

A GMC-branded high-performance ute would be entirely acceptable. Tens of thousands of Aussies can't be wrong.

Around my neck of the woods, small-town police officers and chiefs are in the papers (and in jail) just as much as the beer-swilling rednecks they're always chasing after. Sometimes it's hard to tell who's actually the bad guy.

Fail.

"No, really, my comic-book collection is THIS big!"

I'm looking forward to seeing Fiat based designs on American shores.

@Littlecarrot: Consider how reliable American cars were in the 70's and how far they have come, and it's not impossible to imagine a reliable Fiat. (I didn't say it was easy, but not impossible).

In other news, Subway opens its first drive-thru location!

@wrx-tyrannosaurusWrx: I hear a lot of "OMG, Obama is going to ruin the auto industry by nationalizing everything and we're going to become a socialist country!"

I approve.

@citröen67: No kidding. Telling a guy he's got to lose his classic ride or else is like telling him he's got to cut off his left...arm. There are plenty of women out there who'd love to take his pony for a long, hard drive.

@rebeldevil: Yeah, I thought of that and it could present a very unpleasant catch-22.

@Tiberiuswise gazing at the Pontiac Moon.: Exactly. It's running, it's restored, and (I assume) it's paid for. She's probably taken away all of his other freedoms, so for Pete's sake, let him have something to play with.

@reefer: Your disclaimer is duly noted, but it's the principle at stake here.

I'd keep the car and get rid of the wife.
