Sneak preview of GM's new compact car?

@ChasG: My 1974 Dart had that awful interlock, but yeah, I think by 1975 most of those systems had been defeated. Yuck.

1974 to be sure.

@Ford Tempo Fanatic: Yeah, I replaced sensors over and over, the EEC-IV computer module, exhaust systems, cooling components and especially front-end parts like tie-rod ends (constantly). Steering rack, water pump, gas tank and seriously, I think just about everything else..and fairly early on too (like under 70,000

Saab..get back to Sweden and start making funky and affordable cars again, not useless GM-based $40,000 status symbols.

@sos10: I think that pretty much sums it up. Saab jumped the shark in the mid 90's, and fell off my radar when they decided to quit making hatchbacks and started making SUV's and Saabaru's.

@LucidRalphWiley: No, I can't say that I ever met anyone who cared enough about the difference to ask me that :P

@Ford Tempo Fanatic: I already gave you the heart-thingy because your dedication to the Tempo is admirable. After all, *somebody* needs to love the unloved, and the Tempo is pretty unloved.

@themeasles voids warranties: That has less to do with Mass drivers and more to do with the general nature of 93. Consider yourself lucky you don't do that commute any more....people who do have the next 8 years of construction to look forward to!

@TV's Paul Y.: Maybe Toyota will buy the Hummer marque from GM..they could just pry off the HUMMER nameplate and stick on a Camry nameplate instead.

Did anyone say it yet?

@David Wilson: Not only wouldn't I dare to touch that timing gear, it gives me the willies just looking at it. Fragile..complex..Italian...scary!

@makopolo: I think Chrysler is now using the Imperial Gallon for all of its MPG ratings.

So when is GM coming out with the 2010 ThunderCougarFalconBird?

@Ford Tempo Fanatic: Or it could just be so monumentally lame that it just SEEMS too great to comprehend.

As Seen on TV!

@TheDanMan,Prefers Kilowatts to Horsepower: Is it me, or does "Improved manufacturing productivity to equal Toyota as the best in the industry as measured by assembly hours per vehicle according to the Harbour Report" translate to "We're going to slap these turds together as fast as we can!!!!"
