seeing that 3rd rate Nicholson lookalike immediately took me out of the movie AND made me cringe thinking about upcoming scenes that might also show him. Scenes involving Jack were almost certainly doomed to fail, his performance was iconic, but even poorly budgeted CGI would have been less of a failure IMHO.
