again, I can’t explain it but I can confirm it is a “thing” LOL.  Spielberg has the chops to make what is an almost inevitable outcome (fiction vs. non-fiction) still suspenseful; Ron Howard does not apparently.

the more I watch the Crown the more I agree with you the whole thing should go, the monarchy is a useless joke that almost certainly sucks more money from taxpayers than it generates.

possibly dumb question—why not just call the important people and say “Queen Elizabeth is dead” or “the Queen has passed” instead of “London Bridge is down”? It’s the exact same number of words, possibly 1-2 more syllables, and is about as direct as one can be? and if it’s meant to be a coded message, doesn’t

LOL totally missed that hidden gem. Still just as funny and clever as “Let’s go Brandon”

the only reason I wouldn’t unequivocally agree with you that he was playing it all for satire is that along with the racist stuff he did, he was absolutely brutal to homosexuals, especially in Blazing Saddles and History of the World Pt 1. He used every gay stereotype there was, the lispy effeminate behaviors, the F

 I sincerely hope he’s lying in bed with his next hot girlfriend and not giving a fig what some rando on AV Club thinks about his looks LOL

so then Fetterman creates an ad with Chris Miyares where he says out loud that he forgave Fetterman.  What’s the big deal?  Oz is getting desperate, and running out of time and ideas, and dredging the (possibly) irrelevant past to try and smear someone is Republican campaigning 101.

exactly what I came here to say. Funny guy I suppose but aren’t male rom-com leads supposed to be attractive? (am I on the verge of starting shit here? LOL)

I agree, and my saying a film “hasn’t aged well” is my acknowledgement of the points you raise rather than urging people to not watch the movies, to excoriate the makers of the movie, etc. Mel Brooks’ comedies in the 70's were hilarious and hilariously offensive on so many levels but you could get away with that back

what took the cherry off the sundae of Apollo 13 (that also happens for any other “based on a true story” movie with me) is that you know what’s going to happen, and I just don’t think Ron Howard is a good enough director to create a lot of suspense from a true story. Same with Affleck’s movie about the Iran hostages;

I don’t know what the statute of limitations is for insurrection (sorry, “trespassing on federal property”) but I never get tired of seeing mug shots of those Jan 6th shitstains frowning in front of a gray cinder block wall, and I look forward to seeing more for the foreseeable future.  The thought of some of them

yes, Philly I believe or a suburb, why?

frankly I am FLOORED that any police union would let the pension of ANY police officer (even in prison) be taken away; having said that, I would love to see a union rep go on camera and defend that stance with a straight face LOL.

I’m interested to see the debate revived of how much abuse a man can or should take at the hands of a woman before defending himself and/or fighting back, because I don’t feel like I’ve seen a good resolution. It feels like everyone I’ve ever seen with an opinion has a slightly different opinion than everyone else LOL.

who says he hasn’t LOL?  imagine him calling whatever brainchild created those cards and he gets all excited to meet Dear Leader and all he does is threaten him for a licensing cut.  (BTW, from a legal/licensing perspective I don’t think t***p would have a leg to stand on given that that word is a verb that people

yeah he did get pretty messed up didn’t he LOL. Then mention that, they could have even played it for a joke. Instead he was persona non grata.  I understand the reality is Adam Reed probably has a clause in his contract limiting his voice work but still, I miss Ray.

I forget Toy Story because I don’t automatically associate Hanks with Woody, and Saving Private Ryan is great but a very difficult watch, especially the D-Day opening scene, which usually leaves me too drained to finish the movie. The others are fine IMO (I feel like The Martian nailed what Apollo 13 attempted to do).

arguably Forrest Gump and that movie is the poster child for “’great’ movies that have NOT aged well”.

So many of Zemeckis’ recent projects have felt like experimentation or stealth research and development for new advancements in special effects

why did I IMMEDIATELY think of this smirking prick when I read this story? (also, am I the only one who gets kinda bummed seeing young people wearing MAGA hats in public?)
