My biggest concern is how/can you change in future if you leave the Apple ecosystem? I’ve twice switched back to Android. Is there a way of exporting, and importing elsewhere. My biggest fear is vendor lock-in, which is why so far I’ve not started to use passkeys.

Surely this is telling people to go backwards in time? HEIC is also the mode that many Samsung phones now capture images, and they open fine on most Linux applications I use.

I’m just thinking we should, rather than converting HEIC to JPG, get Windows up to scratch with handling HEIC photos. The format is better, and

I can add I suffered with ingrown hairs for over 20 years until I discovered there was such a thing as double-edged safety razor blades. Within two weeks the problem had gone. Seems the issue was multi-blade cartridges that pull the hair out, cut, and let it drop below skin level. The added advantage was also using

This is not quite the whole story though. The above is quite correct, but only you have that access to that virtual Mac. As Beeper says, if you lose your Beeper password access, they cannot restore that access 9the way it should be). So it sounds like only you can open and use that access via the virtual Mac that you

Problem is, my Android phone is now warning me that my own AirTags are unknown and following me! I carry an AirTag in my wallet, and on my car keys, but only have an Android phone. If I disable warnings, it will also disable for AirTags I don’t own that follow me. It seems like someone forget many Android owners

I think that should read “has added his account to Threads”. He had also added it on Mastodon last year.

So many questions about passkeys that it seems to me way too early just go for them when there are no longer password backups:
1. What if you lose your primary device? How do you access your account to block the passkeys.
2. I daily use three different devices (Linux desktop, Android phone and an iPad) so how do my

“Electric” also differs in that you get older metal plates and spiral element stove tops, versus the newer induction tops. I switched to an induction top and its benefits are very similar to gas, in that it heats and cools down very quickly, allowing a more controlled cooking. It is a lot more efficient in power

I always thought Apple’s FindMy app was more about device and items tracking, which is totally “fragmented” (to use an Apple expression) on Android between Tile, Samsung, etc.

Certainly yes as far as just plain location sharing, Android does a better and broader job than Apple does,

And for picking up dog poo whilst on walks or at home... my wife loves them for this.

Really glad to see traditional wet shaving taking off and being spoken about more. I’ve saved a fortune by using double edge blades instead of 5-bladed Gillette blades. What I did not know, during about 20 years of suffering with ingrown hairs, was that those ingrown hairs were being caused by the multi-blade

I actually prefer shaving soaps like Mitchell’s Wool Fat, Tabac, etc. Only part that takes longer is the heating the water to 80 C as the lathering is otherwise really quick. But I find it last way longer than shaving cream, and the addition of water in the wet brush gives it plenty of good glide.

Just not working for me - I have a 12 Pro with iOS 15.5. Don’t see any star or lookup. Tried same photo of a pot plant with Google Photo’s Lens on the same phone, it identifies the plat and the type. Seems a bit crazy that the Google app does it for me, but iOS’s own app...

Whilst we never had gas at home for cooking, we had standard electric elements, which took a while to heat up, change temperature, and were not very efficient. We just replaced that with an induction stove top, and it is offering all the benefits of gas (quick heat up, change of temp, efficiency), with the bonus of

FINALLY, this makes sense to non-US citizens. Seems that this Amendment has been grossly misrepresented by many individuals who clearly don’t know what the Amendment is actually about. It is then actually quite similar to other countries where we cannot intentionally spread fake or harmful news, slander individuals,

I was anyway planning to switch to ProtonVPN at the end of my ExpressVPN subscription, as ProtonVPN has a proper native Linux GUI app.

But WD-40 also makes it? See https://www.amazon.com/WD-40-Specialist-White-Lithium-Grease/dp/B00631GUJ0/ref=sr_1_22?crid=316N263NN94D7&keywords=White+Lithium+Grease&qid=1643829212&sprefix=white+lithium+grease%2Caps%2C275&sr=8-22

Not so sure then it is completely unique - South Africa’s Discovery Bank already has a card issued with unlimited virtual cards, that is tied to tiers of discount based on purchase volumes and health performance (because they also have a medical insurance arm). So the more I exercise and the more I buy healthy foods,

We do use towels to dry off AFTER washing off in a shower with soap etc... Surely or day clothes will have more dead skin cells on than our towels?

Yes much like Google Keep’s labels - I see Keep’s labels can easily be clicked off to be removed. Really frustrates me that I must keep using Google apps and services on my iPhone and web browser as Apple seems to lag behind (ie. still no dates for reminders set in iCloud via browser).
