You’re entitled to your very, very wrong opinion.

2+ hours of nothing much happening

Luckily for everyone, Lopez is not Raquel, in the sense that her diva star power comes yoked to actual talents, even if, again, live TV doesn’t really seem to be her thing.”

I’m not an SNL hater. I think it’s been a pretty strong season with guest hosts like Will Ferrell, David Harbour, and Harry Styles.

I don’t think Hammond’s Trump worked with who Trump is now. I don’t really think there’s anything very funny about Trump - I know people have said other comedians, like Anthony Atamanuik, are great in the role, but I can’t stomach watching anything involving Trump. I wish they would just leave him offcamera.

I thought the opening sketch was funny, playing not on Trump as victim but rather as not as great as he thinks he is. Lopez playing essentially the same character was funny in the HGTV sketch, but having Chad right after was meh, and the third time was only funny because Aidy and MacKinnon are just gold together.

Funny, how?

Yeah, if The Irishman in any way glamorized the mob life, or was at all rehashing the tone and perspectives of his other movies dealing with organized crime.

I just saw “Knives Out” today and I think I’ll be rooting for it.  It’s terrific.

If you haven’t seen it, please know that The Irishman is also legitimately funny for much of its runtime. Scorsese has harnessed the inherent “bigness” of late stage Pacino for maximum enjoyment.

I don’t think he actually gives a shit if you decide to watch his movie however you want. He was asked for his thoughts about why he didn’t create a mini series and gave an honest answer.

I see a lot of today’s youth seem to think it’s “cool” to be a wise-cracking raccoon. WELL, IT’S NOT

Are you routinely forced to watch the longest movie at theaters near you? Because you really should report whoever is doing that to you to the authorities.

That’s an expression that literally never adds anything to any conversation.

This is actually the least glamorous gangster movie of Scorsese’s career. The last half hour in particular is brutal in depicting the high cost of Frank’s lifestyle on his future, his family, and his sense of self.

You sound just like my grandmother when she complains about TV cop dramas like Law & Order:

Fucking wild that there was no violence before there were violent movies.

Is this some sort of ironic response to scorcese saying he’s not a fan of superhero movies?

From the trailers I honestly think they look pretty good. Maybe you’re right that they wouldn’t hold up to scrutiny on a big screen, but so far they appear much more realistic than any CGI face mods I’ve seen elsewhere.

The humour is great. There’s a running element where the fates of minor characters pop up as text boxes (most were murdered, often between 1978-80), and for one character we get the legend ‘Widely liked by all. Died in 2001 of natural causes’. That got a good laugh in the theatre.
