When David Foxx reached out to Jalopnik, he was on his 10th day of a 19-day vacation

I loved the concept of Andromeda, because it felt closest to giving me that Star Trek “commanding my own ship and exploring new worlds and meeting new races” vibe that I have always wanted from Mass Effect, whereas everything in the original trilogy basically is fully known and explored thanks to the Mass Relays and

Liara sending her top operative to do the whole commander shepard thing; assembling the best of the best in order to respond to the distress call and also gather the technology in order to make it across galaxies without time loss would be the direction i’d go.

Though it was an Earth Alliance military designation, wasn’t it? That seems to make a non-human bearing it unlikely (though not necessarily impossible).

I loved Andromeda, I realize fans didn’t for some reason but I enjoyed it and my version of the game didn’t have the bugs that people kept mentioning.

This is going to be my third negative post of the morning, I maybe should have some coffee first. But these short “teasers” make me more frustrated than if they’d just shut up about it until they had actual trailers to show.

Bugs and shit launch aside, I kinda liked Andromeda :(

Curious what you would choose to do if put in that position. Sure, the assimilation of all life is unconsensual, but it’s a far cry from sexual assault. It’s basically unconsensual peace, enlightenment, and enhancement for the entire galaxy, not exactly a terrible thing. But those aren’t the only options, there’s also

So as long as nobody is holding their gun backwards.

what i found funny was we spend the entire cerberus portion of the story fighting the idea of controlling the reapers, they make a deep ethical thing for the mission in me2 where you either kill or reprogrm the geth after getting legion...but sure, control was the ending people were saying was the “good one”

I debated playing through the original trilogy again when the remastered version came out but any time I think about starting ME1 I realize that what I really want to do is just go back to ME2.

It’s a bit odd since it’s stuck in the middle and mostly self contained but something about the pacing of it really works for

Must that word be used for the video game storyline? Really? I know you’re making a hyperbolic point but maybe ease off the sexual assault metaphor since it’s, you know, not fucking applicable.

This is an insane misreading of SO MUCH of the text of these games. The Geth and EDI are *absolutely* living beings. Their whole *narrative purpose* is to drive the player to consider their rights as a species and individuals.

This is a continuation of the same clip, but we see the red N7 sleeve on their lab coat. What remains to be seen if this is maybe Liara paying tribute to Commander Shepard, or if BioWare is about to pull some fandom gimme coward shit and bring back the old face of the series, 600 years after the trilogy.

The bare bones feeling was especially crazy considering how much open world clutter there was! There was content, but it was all filler and bad.

Shepard shows up with a resurrected Optimus Primal to safeguard the Technorganics!

Lol they’re fully sapient.

Good, all we did was explore one little cluster in a whole new galaxy. Would be silly to not continue further there.

The Geth and EDI are not living beings. They are machines built by living beings to serve a purpose and as such, their creators can choose to decommission them when they are outdated or unnecessary. Therefore, it is not genocide to destroy them.

I really don’t wanna rehash ME3 ending shit this much later, but skipping over the literal genocide induced by the Destroy ending as one of the “downsides” is so wild lol
