I'm getting serious Hatoful Boyfriend flashbacks from this..

Me: Wait, are you a dating dad or are you dating dads?
Game page: BOTH, MOTHER@#@#

YES. I personally was shocked that 50% of people would wipe me and my city out just to hang out with their friend! How are we as humans still alive??

This. You have to rethink years of ingrained turn-based strategizing.

My son has been way into watching me play the Shovel Knight collection for some reason, and we're on Plague of Shadows. The original one was terrifically fun and tightly built around its mechanics, while this is a little looser but still fun. The platforming is far less stressful so far. It is fascinating how they

I really enjoyed Necrodancer, even if I never could beat the final boss, who is T-O-U-G-H. It's a really unique game, and the chances they took with the mechanics paid off IMO.

Abel is solid and underrated.. I use him a TON on various maps, and that's just the 4* version. I thought about including him, but 'distant counter' and strong defense are really good in Arena to tease the AI into breaking rank and throwing themselves against your wall so you have less to deal with on your turn.

Paper Mario: Little guy and I finally finished the Paper Mario game we've had going for months. Now that it's over, I can strongly say… the game is OK. The aesthetic is a little wonky and inconsistent; the writing is mostly bland, with good moments. The combat system is fairly simple but it chugs along

"Uncharthead"? OK, *now* I'm sold!

It wasn't that bad. Yoshi is surprisingly good at midwifing.

Agreed! I can still remember the levels of Sunshine, which I haven't played in probably 15-ish years, but I struggle to remember worlds from Galaxy or 3D World both of which have been played and re-played recently.

Isn't sunshine the one that does the shade tossing?

I agree wholeheartedly.. there are aspects to this that I really liked and would like to see more of. I like the consistency of the world. I liked walking into a place, and thinking 'how do I get there?' and figuring it out. The modern Mario games focus more on a more-or-less linear journey that tests your action

Gamecube is a weird hole in the Virtual Console library, which is a damn shame for all the reasons above. I had to get Paper Mario to play with my kid instead of Thousand Year Door, and frankly it's a rough consolation prize.

The software selection seems to be a pitfall 2.

Half of it at least.

There's one in Northlake now, if that helps.

So… how'd she know none of those people were an air marshal?

It does exist! It's called The Metronomicon!

I saw an indie rhythm RPG being demoed in the indie game section of a recent convention here in town. I couldn't sit down and play as I had the little guy with me, but I'm heavily intrigued.
