On a nice summer day with the windows down and my wife, son and dog in the car, I got “coal rolled” for having the audacity to pass some guy. I’m sure he thought it was hilarious. Hope he dies slowly and painfully from lung cancer.
Actually you could argue that the RS200 was the best looking of the second generation Group B cars because it was styled. And not a monstrous mutant car which resembled a mundane hatchback because… marketing!
Interesting — I don’t think you’ll find many cars that exceed EPA stats when run by C&D long term reviewers.
The only thing that belongs on here is coal rolling (which isn’t even about car enthusiasm anyway), and doing stupid things that can hurt others (or yourself) for internet fame.
Respect for the matching spare though.
First: Bite your tongue. The RS2000 is amazing, and stunning to look at.
Mostly agree. Rolling coal and the TikTok/clout gaining one are the two relevant slides here. Street racing is an odd omission.
I’m 100% sure that the rolling coal crowd are the ones that caused the EPA to come down so hard on the aftermarket tuning industry.
Now we can’t have nice things because these douche nozzles want to coat everyone in diesel soot.
Check the comments: There were many, MANY people who gave full respect to donks, some saying that they were the very best of car culture.
Overland rigs are sick. Most people i know with one actually uses them for camping at very least.
1. Unless it’s unsafe or impeding on someone’s rights, livelihood, etc, just let it be. We all have different tastes but love our car culture as much as the next person.
It’s easy to point out what’s terrible. Let’s do “what we need more of”. My nomination: Japanese disco trucks.
Yeah, as was stated above, the MT is geared pretty aggressively. That said, EPA numbers don’t seem to accurately reflect real-world mileage. I’ve seen a decent number of owners reporting 30+ on highway driving. I’m averaging 28-29 MPG mostly around town.
Not sure about the new ones, but in my 1st gen, I’d be regularly hitting 30MPG in mixed-driving, including the occasional on-ramp/off-ramp shenanigans if conditions allowed for it.
What is the decibel reading in the cabin at 65 MPH?
How does the interior material quality feel? Cheap plastic? Are the touchpoints at least nice?
I just want to know when I can buy one from a Subaru dealer, at the actual intended price?
Crazy how much weight they were able to shave off. But a full time AWD car coming in at less than 3300 lbs today is impressive. The Core is at least 150-300 lbs less than its current AWD competition and what it would have competed against had it been released 5 years ago.
While I’ll admit that the new Civic Type R is about 1000% more appealing than the last, I’d drop my $40k on this waaaaaay before the CTR. This has a much, MUCH more special drivetrain and is much more justified at that price as a result. This is even more special than a Golf R, they’ve made haldex pretty good these…
