Takamoto Katsuta and Kalle Rovanpera to form a Toyota Junior team
I’m absolutely gutted. She was an incredible talent and incredible personality. The world is poorer without her in it.
Same. I always LFB automatics and man what a difference
I’m glad they're putting so much focus on sound right from the start, as I'd say sound is more important in rallying than in any other motorsport. If you make rally cars to quiet to be heard well before they're seen spectators WILL die.
The correct answer is now, as it forever has been and forever will be, the Nissan Versa.
Disagree. Group B cars were awesome, but they were terrible jumpers. Walter Rohrl refused to ever do Rally Finland because of how badly they landed.
Those aren’t spectators, the spectators are behind the barrier in the background. Those are accredited media, and they are rendered invincible by the reflective vests they receive
Awesome! Thanks!
Rally is strictly “play it as it lies”
Got anything of the RX-7? Asking for a friend...
I’ve co-driven stock UTVs in stage rallies. I have a first place overall trophy from one of those rallies. I’ve never seen a UTV finish outside the top half of the field unless it had serious mechanical issues. At Frazier Mountain Rally 2017 stock class UTVs swept the top four spots, with RZRs locking out the entire…
Exactly. You say “rock outside” and he’s going to look for the rock
Yeah, anything short of true gravel tires is going to mean a bad time. Even quality all terrain/off road rubber like General Grabbers etc can’t match the grip and strength of a gravel tire, and having the wrong tire can cost you seconds per mile (not to mention the reduced safety that comes with less reliable grip and…
Not sure what brand he had, but they were designated gravel rally tires. Like these.
The cat is moved to the exhaust tip for better air flow. It’s common in rally
UTVs are only allowed at certain rallies (NEFR isn’t one of them), and they are NOT slow. I regularly see them among the top 5-10 at rallies with 70+ entries
The point of rally is to race the course as nature left it. A few cars (including the 2WD national championship leader) were taken out by destroying their oil pans (through their skid plates) on large embedded rocks. It probably wouldn’t be that hard to dig the rocks out and remove them, but that’s rally.
Saying “rocks outside” is bad, better to say “keep in” or “stay tidy”. Never mention by name the thing you don’t want to hit.
