Doesn’t sound fierce enough for the market
There are indeed pro drone operators working for the WRC. As for the drivers, none of them have complained about drones being a distraction yet.
The helicopter pilots are still safe for now, thanks to higher top speed and flight time
If there’s ever been a year to follow, this one is it. Other Seb isn’t dominating. The first four rallies were won by four different manufacturers, and now after seven events we have five different winners. Seb’s the points leader, but the margin is only 18 points at the halfway point.
Part of the problem is since it’s drone footage most of the “music” would by the whirring of their tiny props and electric motors
27 minutes tops when fitted with the dual battery system.
I never cease to be amazed by the incredible beauty and precision of the drone shots coming out of the WRC. It wasn’t that long ago that shots of a vehicle of this caliber required coordination between film crews and drivers, practice runs, and multiple takes. Now we’re getting stuff like this from a live sporting…
But how can we follow the tougher hillclimb taking place in New Hampshire in two weeks?
The issue with going over the agreed upon speed when the road is closed is that higher speeds require a different level of insurance for the event and additional medical/security presence. In other words the faster you’re planning to go the more preparation and expense needs to be involved.
“Awww, that’s cute.”
If someday someone tries to stick my future geriatric ass in a commune of 100,000+ olds I will beat that someone to death with my dentures. No thank you, not my kind of place at all.
Ha!
THIS IS BAIT
Depends on the spec you’re building to. A basic budget rally car can be built for less than $10k. A new WRC car though would set you back over $800k.
Where I come from (gravel rally) it’s actually the rear drive cars that are at the disadvantage
I’m sure the roads are there. The problem is it’s hard to drum up sufficient support for something like rally in the heart of NASCAR/hot rod country.
Yeah, that’s definitely not rally country. There is Sandblast Rally in Cheraw, SC in March though, and West Virginia is getting a rally again next year.
Where are you?
Weird. I was on both pedals and it had no complaints. Maybe they pulled the fuses/reprogrammed the demo cars or something
