It’s not a good name unless they add “Jellyfish” to the end.
I can’t entirely hate on SIARPC, while it was often on the boring side there were some good interviews and cool people in there, especially Sir Ranulph Fiennes, who gave an interview that was start to finish amazeballs. SIARXC though was so scripted and formulaic that it was going to bomb no matter who they had on.
Not just lack of spares, they don’t even have a fully built third car yet, and won’t until Portugal (late May). M-Sport, because they’re not factory anymore, rely on vehicle sales and rentals to fund their program, so they need the ability to churn out cars and parts as fast as possible. This is also evidenced by…
In addition to what deanmachine said, these cars are so new (there was a major rules change for 2017) that there hasn’t been enough time build a stockpile of spares yet. The factory Citroen team, for example, had so few spare rear bumpers at the start of the season that they did most of their testing without it…
Yeah, 05 was the big year for them
4". Wanted the rumble without it being obnoxiously loud
This has happened before, they redid a bunch of rallies in the 80s because they were too fast. Basically they drop the stages that don’t have enough twisty bits to keep speeds down and replace them with more twisties
Look up “Ojibwe Forests Rally”
I endorse this
I dunno, but in the case of the Outback it’s the byproduct of rear bias on regards to where the power is sent (60/40 I believe) and a limited slip in the rear
Tell me about it. Finding her was a challenge. Even the 08-09 Viper was built in greater numbers
THIS
Nameless Performance axleback. I’ll be replacing the midpipe with the Nameless unit this year as well
Remember, kids, kidnap a Jalopnik author for a week and you too can be hoon of the day!
Why ya gotta go and steal my thunder?
Can’t recommend it enough
You would think it is, but it isn’t. One of the first things they have you do at the rally school is brake without being on the gas, then brake while still on the gas. The difference is very noticeable, and using both pedals at once is markedly faster.
You can’t work it with the same level of precision
