Around here I still see a fair amount with boxes on the back but yeah, the RV industry is the reason for this. The Transit doesnt have the tow capacity once its been built compared to this beast so I think it’ll live on for at least a few more years.

No. They switched from the V8 Duramax to the inline 4 for 2017 and discontinued that for 2023. Only 4.3 and 6.6 gas now.
