Toyota started selling cars here in 1957 so 50th anniversary of that.

Camry Hybrid - 50th anniversary edition. Really.  Fitting I found pics from a BHPH lot.

Looks like he found a good welder.  Samara better than others.

He’s Niva gonna finish it.

I did see someone advertising renting their OEM converter out for smog testing on Facebook Marketplace.

These are dying at an alarming rate in CA - not because of the battery but catalytic converter theft.  Only option here is a new OEM replacement and that’s at least $1500.

Interesting tidbit:  *ALL* of the 2021 I-Paces Jaguar sold in the US went to Waymo. Polk says there are 523 of them.

Spotted this thing at a roadside lot (yes, that trailer was the lot office) on I-80 outside of Sacramento years ago. My parents bought an ‘81 Fairmont wagon (jalop special - brown, manual trans) new and they had a Durango in the showroom. I sat in it for at least an hour while my parents signed all the papers. I

I had a similar experience with an older Legacy. Literal little old lady car with 50K on it that was not a fan of being woken up and actually used.  I did not beat on it but within 5K it was leaking from every place imaginable.

Old low mileage Subies really dont like being used.  It took two decades to get to 30K and in two years you doubled that.

Take a look at the RV industry and you’ll see where we’re heading with this. Parts common to multiple manufactures is rampant there. Company that makes LPG fittings had a recall last year that affected practically everyone.

Yup. I bought a 2007 Mazda 5 with a bad motor a few months back and swapped in a 2016 Fusion 2.5. It was a bolt in proposition and it is so damn usable its not funny. Even a stick!

True.  Living in CA I tend to not think about that but its super valid.

Come on, it runs and drives - 5.0 power, passed CA emissions (although likely the easier two-speed idle, non-dyno test due to its location), isn’t beat to shit, the worst mod is easily fixed and it’s total eff-it money.

Should have scrolled down to see this before I posted.  Aint even mad.  Have a star, I’d give you two if I could.

Aaand we’re living here in Allentown

Mechanical total maybe?

Sure, I get that and I know these arent exactly falling off the trees in large numbers but for 20 large (if you go to their site, it is supposedly marked down from $24K) there has to be better examples out there.  Maybe not.  *shrug*
