I bought an ex-livery 2005 Town Car L two years ago in the SF bay area. They’re aging out of being able to service SFO so they’re disappearing fast.  I daily mine and love it.  Gets 20 mpg which is pretty damn good for the size.  I joke with my wife that if I ever leave her I am taking the Clown Car as it is bigger

You and I have swapped stories about working on these things. The underhood is figuratively the 10 pounds of shit in a 5 pound bag.

My favorite brake pad story: A couple friends and I joined another team for a 24 Hours of LeMons race at Sears Point - the car was a mostly stock E30 and of course the car wasnt ready when it arrived at the track. We put on a premium grade pad all the way around from a local chain that ends in “zone” on the car. At

I waited in line at JCPenney to buy it - I remember it was a HUGE deal, they were playing “Pac Man Fever” over the loudspeakers...  SUCH a letdown.

I vaguely remember this is how Atari was able to pull off the four ghosts in their version of Pac-Man (and why they flickered like an old florescent shop lamp.)

This totally explains my favorite Activision game as well. Freeway!

I’m in the information provider end of the industry and cannot agree more.  Most techs (and shop owners) only question is “I HAVE THIS CODE WHAT PART DO I CHANGE?”

Naah, didn’t take offense in the slightest.  I got thicker skin than that.

I’m in the biz and the biggest problem right now with ADAS is *EVERY* manufacturer has their own special tools including calibration targets that are sometimes even specific to the model. Some require 10 feet or more of clear, level space around all sides of the vehicle. What independent shop has that? If aftermarket

Yeah, I pulled it from an excel sheet I use for work and they list many variants seperately (trim level, engine, drive wheels) so there are a bunch of lines for each model and it was easier to get them alphabetically

And the bulk of Flex sales over the past few years were fleet/rentals. It was Fords 3rd worst seller. According to Polk (Through July):

He may not sell snacks but hopefully the bathrooms are open so I can Citgo otherwise there is gonna be Sheetz EVERYWHERE.

My FIL’s 2002 2500 4WD 6 speed Cummins is at 190K and still on the original clutch.  Up until last year he towed a 30ft 5th wheel a couple thousand miles a year so I dunno.

Yeah - I didnt go this year.  From what I’ve seen its gotten a little smaller each year with fewer and fewer brands represented.

I saw it live and was completely shocked but from what I’ve learned since is that the guy is kind of known on the show for being an idiot (my wife likes the show - I’m an occasional watcher with the weekend coffee). A coworker was working there in another building representing his car club - the reporter and camera

Rodents are NOT INDEPENDENT CONTRACTORS

I wish I could give this more stars.

I love these super short pickup-based tugs.

I thought he was doing a breast self exam...

I don’t have proof, but I suspect the trend of the Billy Big Mouth Bass front end design is due to reduce pedestrian injuries. The plastic grilles can absorb collision energy in a less living tissue damaging way than a bumper cover with a reinforcement behind it.
