Yup. Bought a cheapie window one a few years back and throw it in the garage window every summer. Doesn’t get as cool as the house but it’s tolerable.

Call it a day and buy 1,000 manual trans Ford ZX2s. *combined* that’s a shitload of technology (yes, each one has very little but cumulatively that’s a LOT, hah) and when one runs out of gas, throw it away and get in the next one.

Having a spare vehicle has made my life so much more relaxed in that regard. Not going to kill myself trying to fix the car TODAY when I have another one I can hop in.  

I have a similar problem with that myself - we have a contractor bidding us a remodel as an option to buying another place and I’ve told him I need 10 feet of clear ceiling in the garage.  I may just get a stand-alone detached garage next to the house, it’ll probably be cheaper than modifying the existing space.
